 REVIEW: Takatoku Otasuke-Sande DX
« Thread Started on Jan 25, 2012, 6:24pm »

Takatoku Otasuke-Sande from the TV Anime Otasukeman which was part of the Time Bokan series.

Hey Kids just got this,Ive been eyeing it on Ebay for about 2 mths,but I finally sprang,it was pricey,but WORTH IT!! To me this is now my favorite toy in my collection as it has it all.As some of you may know I just started recently collecting vintaeg to go with my mostly SOC type collection.If I see an unusual toy of the past,that grabs me,Ill add it.

This has it all!Firing missiles,animal related,70s/80s color,it even turns from a Pelican into a tank!It also has a very cool spring loaded wheel track that flips into a normal wheel track in a very cool way,which Ill show below.Comes with a numebr of gizmos and perks that Takatoku seems to love including like rubbery little Gashapon.I tried the missiles they shoot VERY far!

It has a lot of gold plating and a TON OF DIECAST!!The major part of the body,head and neck is all diecast.Check it out!!

GREAT BOX!!

BIRD MODE

[image]

CHANGING TO TANK MODE!!! GO GO!!

First flip wheels to Tank Treads.{note missile levers too}
[image] [image]
[image]

Flip Open Canopy to reveal the Secret Egg and Remove Secret Egg!

[image]

Fold back Pelican neck,remove beak and basket and add Tank cannon.

[image]
The lower Neck Reveals the Cockpit of the tank,{removed cannon in second pic so you can see Cockpit better}

[image]

Add Front Digger arms piece and fold down canopy.

[image]

Here I removed cannon ...looks like a cool Voltes type digging truck..!!See where yellow missile goes too,others fit in blue chest part.

[image]

Notice how Pelican bird's radar ears fit through canopy top holes!

Hope you had Fun!!

BTW one small fact,there is a version where the wing sticker says "SUNDAY" instead of "SANDAY" !!! must have been fixed,as mine is the corrected sticker.

To me, it seems like often the side characters in these anime are borderline chezy, compared to the big bad robots they often in compass. However this is a very unique piece/ship with the multi change factor. The stork an baby mode is really odd ball, total Japanese anime at its essence I figure. I do indeed like that mode, just different, kinda like this out there piece that I have a deep memory of, as I saw the cartoon somehow as a child perhaps, as I remember that pilot with the javelin in space an that ship for sure....

I really like that piece in tank mode as well, really looks great!!!!

Thanks yea its a super piece,maybe you could also thinking of tekkaman he has a javelin too,and looks alot like that guy you linked..

Yea this pice is way cool,and for teh same reasons you stated,the Stork/Pelican is just whacky in such an odd cool way...had to have it,as everything I enjoy in this world is of the obscure,whether it be movies,music,toys etc...

Been away, but thanks for showing. Often wanted to see this toy out of the box and transformed, as it's been on the list for some time but have not yet picked it up. Excellent photos and write-up. Welcome to vintage!

Indeed, thanks again for the pictures and review. You should get with Kingboy and, with permission, post this on the main RJ site.

I've never seen this toy in person, so I greatly appreciate all the sticky details :)
