GX-58 was heavily discounted before and now it's GX-57 turn GX-57 - 42% off at amiamiNo first issue drill missile, but for that price you'd be crazy not to buy it now if you've held off for so long.

Bump.
First clip: To get you in the mood:
Second clip: Trailer
Third clip: 10 min promo video (with English subtitles)
Short version: Space Battleship Yamato anime series remade. Dude from Neon Genesis Evangelion is part of the production team.
Perfect opportunity for Bandai to cash in. Either re-issue GX-57 or new (read: modified) model of the new Space Battleship Yamato from the Yamato 2199 anime.
And the rest of the Yamato 2199 fleet as well.

Yahoo! I scored a GX-57 on eBay for around $120. I didn't really want one. I have all of the other SOC ships and I even have the BPX version. But since I am a completist, I had to purchased this eventually. Glad I waited

As much as I like the SoC ships, I kinda want ones that are more fit to swooshing; the SoCs are kind of heavy and have a lot of spindly thin antennas and I'm terrified of dropping them every time I pick them up.
I think the Taito super mechanics toys might be perfect to that end, unfortunately I don't think they ever made Andromeda :/

There is a Cosmo Fleet Special Space Battleship Yamato 2202 Andromeda available for preorder. The one I saw was about $55.

U damage one antennae.. its over..and theres goes its value. Those taito yamatos or bandai model kits are much much more worry-free.

I was thinking about using flight pose stands to display the SOC Yamato and Andromeda since the bases the come with cast big shadows in my LED lit detolf cases. But with all those breakable antennas and stuff I am worried about them falling over and breaking on the flight pose stands.

True, the stands that come with them at least kind of "grip" the ships, whereas on the flight pose stands they just sit on the rubber heads.
Speaking of which, I STILL need to pick those things up. I want to display my MazinGrendizEtters on flight poses!

The flight pose stands are great. Just not sure for the SOC battleships. I try to use the SOC stands as little as possible to reduce shadows. I got some of the tamashii stands for some of the less stable SOCs. Maybe I will add another LED strip to fix it.

LED strip all the way! At least for the SOC ships. Any other stands are too risky.
Plus with more lighting you'd be more flexible in displaying other stuff in the same shelf too.

Yeah, no way I'd pay 128 dollars for that. There's a first run one (with the drill missile) on Mandarake right now for less than that!
Also the GX-58 is 42000 yen, geez
