it's a kit or a complete diecast figure ? because the description at amiami is quite unclear

The description says it's a pre-built model, which is the same way they described their GN-U DOU figures and they were ok, so thank the Buddha it's not a kit. I'm sure it will still have a fair amount of plastic. I'm just hoping that either Revoltech or Yamato will get to the really good Zoids designs soon. The Blade Liger is cool, but I want an articulated Blade Liger Phoenix and a Blade Liger Mirage.

the shield liger has diecast. from what i understand, from 200 pieces it poses, 70 or 80 are diecast.

Will it be part of the GN-U Hagane series just like Dangard and Groizer?

OOOMMMMMGGGG Had the chance to witness a box opening of this and held this puppy....Still in gokin shock...It is quite possible the heaviest single figure I have held in my life. Seriously Its about a foot long without counting the tail, maybe 8 inches tall. It feels 100% metal although there are plastic bits. The tail has a wire so you can bend it. Teeth are sharp and the legs have springs so it looks like suspension. I wish I had the actual weight but trust me its heavy and Ive held a lot of heavy gokin in my life. The unbelievable part is that the joints aren't floppy for being so heavy. I did notice the waist could support being picked up but I wouldn't imagine any joint could. Hope someone with one can chime in Edit: I think the box says Shield Liger, but it seems to be the same exact figure

This looks really nice, but I'm waiting for the Liger Zero... with the obligatory Jaeger, Schneider and Panzer armor parts. Awesome efforts on Yamato's parts, following their 1:3000 DYRL Macross release. EDIT: Good thoughts on the flexible tail, there's no more fear of breaking the tail, like in the kit version

HLJ has this for sale and lists the weight at 1.8kg, that blows away any SOC in the weight department.

I am no Zoids fan but I like Yamato as a company -especially they have released many cool Macross toys over the years.
I know very little about Zoids, I wonder how big is it in Japan?
I worry Yamato might make a wrong marketing decision to producing such an expensive Zoids product. It might end up like pervious 1/12 Votoms or 1/15 Garland, not selling too well and end up in discount price within a year.

Looks good, I'm jealous! Hey chachipower, when you get time can you show it next to some other bots so we can get a better idea of the size?

Looks good, I'm jealous! Hey chachipower, when you get time can you show it next to some other bots so we can get a better idea of the size? Your wish is my command... I love this thing so much it hurts... I may have to just keep this one! Story behind this is that I bought it for someone in South America and I have permission to open it up for you guys. I don't wanna show too much because I don't want to mess it up and it will be appearing in a review real soon. But chew on this til then! Here he is next to a GX-01R I dont have a small scale to get a super accurate weight reading but if I set him on my bathroom scale, he registers 3 lbs! The set also contains teeny PVC figures of the pilots and a robot dinosaur. Edit: I'm no Zoids fan, but this thing is sick...does anyone have one of these yet? here are specs according to Yamato USA: * Over 17.00” in length including tail, 10.25” excluding tail * 200 parts in total, including approximately 80 die-cast parts * Die-cast used in legs, chest, and waist * 24 points of articulation * Canopy opens allowing boarding of pilot figures * Head Shield (E Shield) spreads out * Beams (Bazooka) lift from back * Missile Pods spread out from side * 6 kinds of figures: Van Flyheight - Standing x 1 / Pilot x 1 Fiona - Standing x 1 / Pilot x 1 Zeke - Standing x 1 / Zeke with Core x 1 * Zoids Core * Both Zoids Core and Zoids Core with Zeke can be stored inside figure * Up-grade Parts: Fangs x 2 kinds / 30mm Twin Beams (for tail) * Display Stand * Extra Decal Stickers

That's a lot bigger and heavier than I was expecting. Kind of surprising.
EDIT: Heavier than and almost the same size as the Yamato SDF-1 for half the price. Go figure!

The finish looks amazing on that shield liger. So much painted detail, so much tampo detail drool..... but alas its a basic shield liger. Wake me up when the blade liger is out or when this one goes on sale.

I think your photos look even better than Yamato's offical photos. Also here is a Japanese review: www.zoids-fan.net/zoikino/review/yamato_shield.html

That's an awesome looking toy, alas I'm not a big enough Zoids fan to pick one up but if they do make other ones I might be tempted.

Ahhh. It kills me because I see all of those pistons and spring wrapped joints and I want to see them move, but none of them do >.<.
Torturous.
