Ultimate Robot Weapon « Thread Started on Apr 15, 2011, 6:11pm »
Lets see who can come up with the best argument here... Consider all the robots being level in all areas... In the ultimate battle, they can only use one weapon. Which one will prevail?
The biggest problem we see in fictional robot tech is the speed and range of a weapon. We never ever see BOTH at the same time. Like the beam rifle in Gundam UC take forever to fire after you see the pilot prime the weapon... but it sure is powerful - we see it make a one-hit-kill in the second episode just by grazing an enemy mobile suit.
We need something that has enough range that speed no longer matters... Like the galaxy-flinging final version of Gurran Lagann... Or something so long range and such dispersal of destruction that just barely aiming in the right direction is good enough like the Macross Cannon's (from Macross 2) main guns...
Well Mr.OJA, considering all robots level in all areas and only one weapon then Dangaioh all the way! That God Hand Psychic WAAAVE is so original, powerful and throughout the anime In-Escapable! ^_^
If your are talking a Melee battle with weapons that would be close since most of the bots have swords, but besides swords I think it could be a tie between Shin Getter 1's Axe or Scythe, Gurren Lagann's Giga Drill or GGG Hammer. ~B

To be able to use that weapon the pilots need to have exceptional psychic abilities. Dangaioh only focused and aplified them, it didn't have the power itself.
Are the Dangioh pilots the only human pilots in robot anime who have psychic or enhanced superhuman abilities? (besides Raideen's Akira who is a Mu descendant) (This question should be for another topic)
Sanshiro Tsuwabuki from Gaiking was a "enhanced" human, while Guy Shishioh was turned into a cyborg who later got his human body back but still retained all his cyborg abilities. I'm sure there's a ton more out there if you don't include all the Newtype Gundam pilots and whatnot.
I had completely overlooked Guy Shishio, because I always thought he was a pure cyborg anyway, after only watching the GGG Final series. I never watched the old Gaiking series, so I never would've known about the pilot for that robot. Interesting stuff about these pilots, I'll research them further later on. Thanks!
