Persona D-ARTS and other SMT news « Thread Started on Mar 11, 2012, 1:06am »
These figures have been discussed in the "Random mecha news!" thread a couple of times, but seeing as they aren't really mecha and the series is continuing to grow it seemed like a new thread was in order.
We've also seen what are likely to be entries in this same series for P3's Orpheus and possibly P4's Jiraiya and Kintoki-Douji, although the latter two do not appear to be articulated at this time.
Coninciding with these figures are Figuarts ZERO renditions of the humans these personae are associated with, as seen above. I'm not personally familiar with this line, but they seem to all be fixed pose figures.
The first one, the protagonist of Persona 4, is a Tamashii Nations exclusive. I think the others will be also -- Yukiko and Chie (who are also getting figmas!) are up next, and most of the rest of P4's cast along with P3's protagonist have also been shown.

Thanatos has just been released, with a bunch of new pictures preceding by a few days (viewable at the AmiAmi link above). Notably, the frame that supports his coffin lids did get changed to clear plastic.
I'll post some thoughts when he arrives.
There's also a Tamasii exclusive Izanagi repaint up for order now, with a scheduled August release date:

Apologies for still not having any pictures of Thanatos to post, I haven't gotten around to setting up my camera yet -_-'. He is pretty awesome though, and I recommend him without hesitation to anyone who likes the design.
In other news, AmiAmi has listed a preorder for Yosuke's persona Jiraiya from P4. It isn't my super favorite design, but this figure looks pretty great to me!

Thanks for keeping me company in this thread, MMJ. I'm consistently surprised by the apparent lack of interest here. I know we've got some other SMT fans on the board.

I think these look cool but having never played the game or whatever I have no attachment to them. With that said the sculpting on these toys are amazing.

I'm a big SMT fan and thought about getting into these, but I'm just invested in way too many lines unfortunately. =/ I do have the Figma Aigis and Metis, which are pretty neat.
These do look great (Thanatos is a favorite)... too bad the static character figures are exclusives.

I've been watching the anime for Persona 4 in preparation for the fighting game releasing this week. It's cool. The figures are also cool. Unfortunately I've slept on most the releases. I'd really like to at least get my hands on Izanagi.

Oh, you'd best believe I'm reading this thread too! And buying all of the figures, to boot
I got Konohana Sakuya in the mail the other day. A nice enough figure, but the fanned feathers are a pain and a half to manage. She'll be a figure that gets posed and left alone, sadly. She's not all that fun to pose and move around like Thanatos is.
Additionally for those interested, Max Factory displayed prototypes of new Aigis and Labyrs figma sculpts at the recent wonderfest. More mecha ladies for the collection, I guess...
