Thanks for sharing! I'll try to replicate that and take some pictures later. The filters that you use to diffuse the lights, are they tracing paper used for architectural / blue print drawings and such?
So the light sources are placed at the sides, rather than at the top. And as for the types of the lightbulb, I'll try to find that particular brand at my local Ace Hardware. Even if it's not available, an equivalent should be there. Thanks for the tips Tony!
What about light bulb intensity / color? Any particular ones that you guys recommend?
BTW, even without a "real camera", the results of your photos are quite spectacular.

The light filters I use came with a photo-cube kit I got a few years back. They are simple framed opaque white material that's pretty thin. Cuts the light just enough. The lights also came with the setup, but I sometimes substitute a desk lamp I have for close shots. I'm not sure what brand of bulbs I'm using to tell you the truth, but I would be happy to peek into the enclosures to check for you.

The standard sized figures are close but slightly smaller than the gd98. If you want the hyper detail of the movie suits, these are the ones to grab. Prices fluctuate, but you can have most of these fairly inexpensive. Keep an eye on the auctions for a bit to see what these go for. Be patient and you can snag them at reasonable prices.
