I finally got one of these for my shelf. Its loose with no other accessories, but I really just wanted a display piece, so there would have been no room for the pitching attachment anyway. The price was unbeatable, too. Unfortunately, mine arrived busted up from the overseas shipping: But I managed to make him a little more presentable, and fortunately, the parts went together fairly well (it didn't seem like there was much of a lip, but it fit well). BTW, for those curious about what the internal organs of a kaiju look like: What I think is really cool about mine is that the prior owner made a sweet matching cap for the battery compartment (previously this is where it connects to the yellow base attachment) so that it can be displayed solo. I won't do a big review because Dave already did a top-notch one ( www.collectiondx.com/review/kaiju/battinger ), I just wanted to show the repairs and finished product. I'll throw up pics later of it battling fellow like-sized kaiju.

Nice details Myles... so did you use epoxy or model glue? Let me know how well it holds up in case I need similar surgery Your work looks pretty seamless.

Great thread Myles! Battinger is pretty cool toy. Did you find him on Yahoo?

Thanks, guys. Ed, I just used simple super glue, and it worked like a charm. Surprisingly. although the plastic looks real thin and brittle, it actually held up real well once I glued it, and it was a pretty thin lip I had to work with along the edges of the arms. Plus, with the non-throwing arm in particular, the break is in the groove right along where all the pressure rests in the joint between the two halves of the body (like what you see in the neck in the photo of the interior components). I'm really amazed at how sturdy it feels now.
Steph, yeah, I got it from YJ. So it was a long trip to my doorstep. Plus, having been in the post office the last few days, I've managed to get a glimpse of how they truly handle packages. In the past, the people at the desk always gingerly placed packages in bins. But lately, these things were being tossed about over long distances to come crashing down. Even if the contents were expertly packed, I don't think it would matter with the way they were handling them.

Ha, that's pretty cool how they made that cap. Looks pretty good.
Congrats on the score. Such a great toy.
And yeah, I too have noticed a sharp decline in postal diligence lately. One of the drivers who comes to my house must've been trained by FedEx or something as she doesn't actually come to the door, just puts a note in the mailbox that I need to go pick it up. One time she even left a box at the mailbox at the end of the driveway!

Man, that's gotta Hurt big time. It sucks having to be that much more watchful when you're expecting a collection shipment in the mail just to make sure nobody steals it... like having to wait out on the porch with a shotgun when the mail arrives, incase ya gotta blow sombody's hands off if they try to snatch your hauls. Back when I was getting new figures every other week or so, I used to ditch work at lunchtime and run home to make sure I received my packages as soon as I knew exactly when they'd arrive, or I would've gone seriously ballistic. zozo-Magengar And yeah, I too have noticed a sharp decline in postal diligence lately. I was just telling someone else that I was in the PO recently, and the workers were just tossing packages across the room. No amount of packaging would save them. Pretty absurd.

That's a cool toy just static, but it could save you some parental disciplinary duties, if you had it hooked up to continuously whap plastic balls at your kids as they have to sit in the corner, and DON'T MOVE! You'll eat your veggies next time, Wahaha!

That's a shame on Them. We'll just do the best we can packing our items as best as possible from our end. The last time I sent a figure out to a board member, I took photos of the figure in its current condition and advised the recipient of the figure's flaws; I even photographed how I packaged it; and sent the pics to the recipient via pm before I mailed the package out. That way my azz was covered. I pack with lotsa TLC and Respect. zozo-Magengar I was just telling someone else that I was in the PO recently, and the workers were just tossing packages across the room. I recently came to the realization that this toy had been customized more than I had originally thought. I have a boxed one now, and the batteries are placed in the yellow plastic attachment that feeds the balls to the Battinger. There are metal contacts in the back of the Battinger that connect to the yellow attachment, thus powering the toy. However, this loose one I have has a battery compartment attached to the rear of the Battinger itself, under that custom cover. This way, the toy functions even without the yellow ball feeder. Pretty cool. They even changed the battery size from Ds to Cs. (If this were a woman, I'd be upset. But as a toy, smaller battery size means less of an area to conceal.) Just thought I'd share this discovery since there are so many customizers out there and I thought this was a pretty cool mod.

WillOhio is going to be quite jealous when he sees this old thread brought up. He has been wanting one pretty bad.
If you wanted to sell the older one, I am sure he would be quite interested.

I was considering it, although I was thinking of offering it up as trade bait on skullbrain to try to get some vinyls that are out of my reach. On the other hand, I was also thinking of hanging on to it since its a cool customization, and my other one does have some issues too. Besides, this one itself has had some repairs, so he might be looking for a nicer specimen. Not sure where I want to go with this.

Wow! That's cool as heck KingboyD. Not only the fact that you have one (for which I am GREEN with Envy...a deep, deep GREEN!) you have a Unique one. Great modifications and a very clean one at that.
I've been wanting one for about as long as I've been involved in this hobby(my 1st seeing one was the video ND put together with the Voltron swinging the bat). I want one for show but also I have a son who's turning 2 and I can think of nothing more geeky cool than saying he learned how to hit a baseball from a Japanese Kaiju. I've already got an Ultraman t-shirt design ready to make for him. (BTW his collection is already started .He's got 3 Jumbo Megazords). Thanks for sharing/resurrecting this thread I missed.
~Will
ps. Thought I had one earlier this summer but the deal got real shady and we couldn't come to amicable terms on "Safe" payment methods. Think I dodged a bullet in the end there... so my search for an affordable one continues...

I hear ya. I had a blast Saturday letting my kids take turns trying to hit the ball. They were ecstatic! Too much fun. I wish ya luck.
