You might want to try auctions.yahoo.co.jp through a proxy buyer like tokyobuyers or auctionjp (who advertises in the Sales Section of the board). Here's one I found quite easily through the tokyobuyers' translation page: page5.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/e95993442The price is 2000Yen above the original Tamashii price. Quite a good deal. Good luck!

I didn't want this guy at first. I am not into the industrial age look and feel. But when I started to see the plethora of Mazingers and Getters, I got into it (anything but the rehash). I like it now because Big-O stands out from my collection. I also appreciate its straightforwardness, especially after spending an hour and a half putting together my GX-46. Big-O is a WYSWYG and I don't plan to get the extra parts (no shelf space and it is outrageously expensive).

I can agree with you there mazfan. Those parts are way too expensive. Just more clutter in my curio case. You cant use all those parts at one time anyways. Thats why I gotta pass on this parts set.

I agree the parts are expensive, but worth it!! You know a few months ago I would have rolled my eyes and said "yeah, sure the parts are worth it" But now that I actually got my grubby little hands on it, I think they're awesome and worth it, giving Big O that extra "umph" to put him over the top. I definitely love the pink blaster effects and display the "O" with one of it. This thing still cost me a little less than my GX-46 with the optional extra parts. I just really hope Bandai doesn't screw us and release Big O with all these extras sometime down the road. I'm loving the blaster effects so much that I'm even contemplating getting GX-50 just for the weapons effects. I guess this gimmick replaces the shooting projectile thing in the 70's & 80's

ShShShSh! ;D <whispering> (...the more we think that way, it might lead to this: Someday down that road, many of us are gonna get Spanked!) shshshshshsh! ;D ------------- On the real: I doubt Bandai, or any manufacturer, would do such a thing. Why release the same thing twice? Such a stunt would be so transparent, and Bandai then would face losing their market base. (First time: Big O, separate; accessory stuff, separate)
(Second time, later on: same Big O figure with just a minor touchup claiming to be a repaint issue, INCLUDING the same accesory stuff, all in one bigo artsy box)To do so would be a waste of money and resources... Unless the company expects to make the money back by touching up Big O's toenails and lips, dubbing it a "Re-issue" as a marketing gimmick, to get fans to slap some major cash AGAIN for the same thing. zozo-Magengar ...I just really hope Bandai doesn't screw us and release Big O with all these extras sometime down the road...

Didn't Bandai do this with Grendizer? Release him first minus the extra Spazers then release him again later including the extra Spazers. Yeah, I fell for that Grendizer stunt. I bought GX04 in 2000 for $265 (plus tax). Then I bought the extra ship years later for over $100 (plus shipping). This is the most expensive SOC I've purchased... And not GX46 . I have no regrets about spending all that money on Grendizer... I have a history with him. I wouldn't do this for Big O... No way!!! Okay, maybe if I have my dotcom money back in 2000

Ok I'd have to say, the Grendizer GX-04X relsease was much more "valid/ worthwhile" than this. For $100 shipped you get 2 diecast ships that could for all intents and purpose could stand on their own. It was like buying another chogokin. With Big-O you get a bunch of accessories that's pretty much useless on its own. I think what Bandai should've done was made the entire Big O release a Tamashi limited SOC and sold it with the accesories for $300. Still given Big O's "limited" popularity I'm hoping this release turns out to be a "one time" thing similar to Gunbuster. If that happens I'm Golden

If that happens I'm Golden :) So you'd have made the Big-O even MORE limited and harder for folks like us to get? The way Bandai did it makes sense for Japan. Big-O has a limited appeal in Japan. Cutting out all of the "non-essential" accessories kept the base cost down and would make the figure more attractive to the casual gokin buyer or casual fan of the series. The hardcore nuts could then just order the rest of the accessories as easily as we might order something off of Amazon, and the nature of the webshop preorder system means that Bandai makes no more accessory packs than it needs. While it's obviously a pain in the ass for folks like us who have to import via proxies and pay a good chunk extra in various fees, you can't blame Bandai for wanting to do what it can to make sure a potentially unpopular product doesn't just sit and languish on the shelves and cut into Bandai's bottom line. Just my two cents. Oh, and Big-O rocks. :D

Hi all, here's a quick look at the Big-O parts set. Please click on the smaller images to view larger pics. Please click on video image to begin playback. Box The box size actually fits with the Gx-48 box (I've got a sinking feeling we might see a "perfect set" box down the road, like the Chogokin Vf25 armor parts). Tray Two new heads were included in this set. The bigger, more detailed head and the archetype head. (L-R : Gx-48 head, new head and archetype head). Neck connection peg Roger's car, the Griffon, parks into the Big-O's feet. The car doesn't have any rolling wheels though and is made of plastic. New hands O-Thunder Doing this might be a little tricky, depending on which arm, the wrists needs to be rotated either clockwise or counterclockwise[/color] for the wrists joint neck to be removed. The piledrivers don't have any spring action this time, their only function is to help push out the cannons. The is clear part has a joint for rotating the arm. Four different types of "bullets" for added visual dimension. O-Thunder in Action! Moby D!ck Anchor. I really advise caution when removing the plugs for the back part of Big-O's skirt for the Anchor attachments. They seem harder to pull out and felt like they were going to break compared to when I was removing the front plugs (maybe I just did it from a wrong angle?) Moby D!ck Anchor in action! ( I really, really love the musical score of the Big-O series. ) Missing accessories (sad to say) Plasma Gimmick Final Stage Display base (some parts from the Gx-48 base need to be swapped out) Overall, a great set, no real complaints per se with what we get here, the real downers are the missing "Plasma Gimmick" and "Final Stage" parts and the big price jump on getting this from the secondary market. I just really hope that one day when Bandai makes Webshop exclusives it could be ordered by people outside of Japan. Sigh. Final tip: since all of the anchors for the chains are packed in small packets that need to be cut open, I recommend storing them underneath the display base when returning the parts back into the box to prevent losing them. Happy to help guys. Yes I agree, Bandai should've made this set easier to avail for folks outside of Japan. The Anime wasn't even that big a hit in Japan as it was in the U.S. Gold
