they are siding with Baikanfu Masterpiece Prime is laughing at Baikanfu with his superior die-cast content and extremely intricate transformation. Yet Baikanfu laughs at any figure that falls by the slightest touch of his Tenku Jiushin Ken due to a weak ankle joint that doesn't quite support its weight. (Yup, thats you too MP Prime! ;D) Don't think MP Prime is overrated though. It is my favorite TF afterall. Just not my favorite diecast in my whole collection.

Just got my Baikanfu SOC today and I think it is a great, beautiful and very elegant to at the same time.
I happen to own the old Baikanfu but somehow I dare not compare them. I think I am just going to treat them as two different toys.
My old Baikanfu now stand next to Combattler V which in turn stand next to Baikanfu's older sibling, Gardian
My SOC Baikanfu stand next to Unifive Daikyozin, waiting impatiently for the arrival of his same age brethens : CMs Goshogun, Gyakutenoh and Sankanoh. ;D

Look who showed up today... Overall quality on my Baikanfu is great, the paint applications are near perfect. I hate to admit, it's pretty fun to combine. Could have used more die-cast though. Oh well... It'S far from being my favorite; actually, on the 14 SOC I have, it probably ranks in the middle of pack (behind Gunbuster, Ideon, Iron Gear, Dancougar, Voltes V, Leopaldon, Zambot 3)... but I love them all, so...

So how does the metal content compared to IDEON? I'm stuck on choosing between the two.. Oh, since you have Voltes as your avatar, I assume you'll have SOC Voltes V. Ideon feels very much like a Voltes in a lot of ways, especially the hip joint design. Almost identical with the diecast extendable groin for more hip movement. Similar tightness (not too loose that it flops, but not super strong for some poses), but imagine now has more weight on top half (diecast arms). One thing Ideon lose to Baikanfu is joints design. Ideon still has all the good old friction joints, with only the shoulder and knees being ratchet. The knee ratchet is not precise but wobbles a bit, which makes it worse to balance the heavy guy. Baikanfu on the other hand, tight precise ratchet joints everywhere, especially the hip & even a diecast ratchet on ankles (a SOC first I believe) where it does matter. If Ideon has ratchet on the hip and ankle, it will sure be king! But thats not the case unfortunately... Thanks for the commentary. You gave a nice detailed comparison of the two for me. Unfortunately, I've been absent from this forum and have been spending my $$$ on my car. I'm excited about the Godmarz and Daimos coming out though. I'll pick-up Baikanfu when I visit Tokyo again later this year.

Toy-wave usually has the limited edition Hong Kong version, however I don't see this in their list right now...
Maybe you can email Ken at Toy-wave and ask him to find one for you?
