Could be the reason why hasbro and takara aren't going after igear for ripping of them molds. Igear better hurry up with the smaller MP Megatron before Hasbro and Takara comes out with a new one.

I was just about to say that from the description it doesn't sound like a brand new design. It looks like it has some tweaks for more arm articulation/design and probably re-designed lower legs for better stability but I'm guessing that's just do to the extra pieces and cape which looks like it will add a lot to an already back heavy design. Still if you don't have Screamer or the 3rd party coronation set this could be for you, I may wait to see if Hasbro releases one but I really do like how they did the cape.

This is just the old proto before Kawamori touched it. This is really a cheap move by Takara. By now toy designing should give us tailfins that fold into the legs or the back and a neck that doesn't look like a collar.

I thought it might have been the original mold, but when you said that I decided to take a look again. Yep, that's it. This is the mold I wanted from the beginning, I still hate the release version.
I disagree about the tail wings, I think they should be visible, they look better that way. I hate it when parts just vanish to streamline, I don't want a lot of kibble, but I think certain parts like wings and doors should always be visible.
