Are you gonna sell everything? Or are you gonna keep a select few that you just love too much?
It will be about everything. The funny thing is that my kids have chosen a few (cheaper) toys like a reproduction Doreman and a repro Kaikaida motorcycle.
So it will all be on auction pretty well with that caveat. I'll have a few duplicates too.

Theres alot of stuff ive been very passionate about that ive put behind me as life moves on, skateboarding, band, racing and yet somehow i always stick with my robots. However life has a certain way of putting things in perspective which really help in making life changing decisions. I hope my robots dont have to go yet lol.You seem at ease with your decision so im sure youve though long and hard about it. Also knowing your pieces will ultimately fall into the hands of other collectors who made the effort to acquire those pieces helps also so you know they will be safe. Plus it will breathe life into them. They will be lovingly photographed and hopefully displayed once again by their new owners.

If I miss pieces, I probably will look for the loose, broken, loved, toys that had a hard life. Orphans, LOL
So you will end up with a collection like mine!
(Actually, in a sense, this is kind of funny. I always felt that everyone looked down (or laughed) at my collecting habits. Now it seems that perhaps there is an evolution towards giving up the expensive (MIMB) collections for cheaper (loose) ones. )

Thanks guys. Well tonight I got up to item number 600 and that should be about it. Sheesh, it is an addiction! I didn't count all the machine robos (divided them into 3 or 4 groups), and didn't count all the Super Gobots either.
Keep in mind that the RJ photos are a collaboration, but only 60% of my collection has been documented on site.
Then I have found hidden loose toys, like a hoarder reforming, it is crazy to look forward to space and back and how many neatly stored toys there are.
P.S. it will really be great catching up with everyone in person. Hopefully most of you can make it to the auction in Fall.
Barring any family/work conflits, I will make the trek down to Morphy's. I had been hoping to get down for one of the RJ Summits, but it never seemed to work out.

Wow! Wotta bombshell Ed! I was certainly expecting you to do something to clear up the collection room for family use, but didn't know how you'd go. If it feels right, and freeing, it's right.
You can certainly say you've had one of the most comprehensive collections, with a most interesting journey while aquiring stuff, and sharing with the world. Thanks for sharing so much thru your love o' the robawt, and I'm glad I got to visit the collection in it's home habitat, lol.
Going thru stored stuff must be a blast, and having it all in book form will be cool. I'd be a fool to miss attending, and bidding in the fall, and will see you there, if not sooner in FL. Wish you the best!

Thanks guys. Here was part of an email I just sent out, it will help with some questions:
".........yes, it has been super busy cataloging and packing. In general, I'll have one of everything high profile in the hobby of diecast robot-wise with the exception of a few Popy oddities that most people don't collect. -Robot wise that is, 1973 up to 1986 or so.
So there will be a Godaikin Stand, Tetsujin Godaikin MIB, Tetsujin SG-01 MIB, Zanbot Combo DX MIB, Dairugger MIB, Voltron set MIB/AFA-85, and on and on. MINTY stuff, my pride and joy, but it is time to share.
So you won't be disappointed and I suggest budgeting accordingly.
Highlights-- Black Daltanious MIB, raideen Black MIB, Jetfire AFA85 sealed, a case of Shogun Warriors from Germany AFA encased and unused."
I've meant to get back to people's individual emails & sorry I've been unable....so hopefully this will help answer while I am not online.

Wow, seems like all the cool kids are getting out / trimming down their collections. I gota say that abandoning my old "completist" habits has been one of the best things I've ever done and eliminating a ton of my collection has felt like a huge load off. Quality over quantity Dunno if i could ever cut the cord completely like you though.
I'm down to just a few pieces to feel like my collection is COMPLETE, complete enough for ME anyway! So if anyone is selling, or knows someone who is selling their Jumbo Machinders of Tetsujin, Sun Vulcan or Leopardon I promise to give them a great home Drop me a PM

Is there a link or web site to Morphy's, and what is the auction date if you know or have an idea? Just want to make sure your stuff goes to our good home collections rather than being sold off on Ebay later by chumps.

LOL. The cord will still be there, but I'll concentrate on free animation and less materialistic aspects. Also, I greatly enjoy the toys my kids have chosen to keep like Godzilla and a few quirky toys.
PLEASE let us hope the toys will go to the end hobby users like all of us So plan please for Fall of 2012. I also hear that Dan will offer financing for a few months.
