Yeah I know I still kick myself for not pre-ordering that one and with the insane prices for it now I just have to hope Konami re-issues it or we get a Bandai version.
so revoltech is doin the evangelion "mass production" revoltech no 118 again [...] i wonder if they made a fix of this figure
As far as I can tell the figure itself is the same. However, this set combines the accessories of the original "wing" and "weapon" versions -- which is why this one has the "complete version" tag.
What would you think the chances are for Revoltech to give Godzilla, Rodan or Gidorah a try?
Hey there tojoro, welcome to the board (sorry that this is a little belated.) I'm glad to hear that you've been enjoying Revoltech, it's one of my favorite lines.
Regarding you question, there was actually already a Revoltech Rodan in 2010, as part of the same Tokusatsu/SFX line that the other kiaju you mentioned are from:
He might be a little harder to track down now, but it shouldn't be too bad. Don't hold your breath on Goji or Gidorah though -- from what we've heard Bandai doesn't want to share the license on them (and, IIRC, some others including Mechagodzilla).
If you're interested in branching out into other lines for some monster action, Bandai is doing some pretty nice stuff in their current S.H. Monsterarts line. There's a thread on that line here: http://robotjapan.proboards.com/index.cg....ay&thread=18014
Since ReVoltech has the habbit of releasing old figures, why can't they re-issue Mazinkaiser, Grendizer and Danboard. These figures sold out pretty fast and I'm betting they'll do good in the market again. I don't have Grendizer and Danboard yet so Revoltech has a sure buyer here. Lol!
Danboard actually had a (popular!) reissue about a year ago, in both a normal version and one with a cherry blossom "stamp" on the back of his head-box. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he rolls around again in another year or two.
I want a Gurren figure but I don't want to spend a lot so which is better the Revoltech or the Bandai version Ka? What about size? I wanna display it next to my SRC's and I've never seen a conparo picture.
I don't have the Riobot or Ver.Ka figures, but I did some digging and found some pretty old pictures I took comparing the Revo to the Konami (wing version) that TheMazingerZ was talking about. I've always liked the Revo a lot more, personally. It's more angular, in my opinion has more personality, and is not green. I guess if the Konami one could be said to be closer to the default not-in-action-or stylized look of GL in the show, the Revoltech captures more the feel of the show (again, to me.). Sorry some of these pictures are so tiny, I'm not sure what happened there.
Komami on left, Revo on right
Note that in this one the Revo on the right is the Wonderfest metallic paintjob, not the normal.
A Gurren Wing comparison that someone requested. L to R, WF metallic Revo, normal Revo, Konami (The green is easiest to see in this picture)
And for SRC size comparison, here's a terrible cellphone camera at night shot (Again, WF version)

i also like the konami better than the revoltech, even with if it is the impossible to find wonderfestival metallic red version pictured above. how about some pictures of the regular dull color revoltech with the regular konami instead of the exclusive? the konami wins hands down!!!! the revoltech has a just too freaky looking body, completely different from the one on the tv show.

Cool thanks for the info!!! I'm not in a super rush to get one but I do like that wonferfest paintjob on that Revo plus the re-issue does come with the wings. I think ill just wait a bit and see.

That first (admittedly tiny, I don't know if that's on photobucket or me) picture does have the original Revo GL with the Konami. If you'd like I can try to get some more pictures taken comparing the normal Revo version with the Konami -- the reason that the metallic version is in more of my photos is because I like it best and it's the one that's always on my shelf. I'd have to dig the others out of the box they've been living in.

Hey, is there any chance that the GL repack is the WF one with the metallic finish, or slightly metallic repaint??? That would be a nice addition and thumbs up to the strategy of re-releasing ex-limited figures...

I suppose anything is possible, but I think that's incredibly unlikely (unfortunately). The pictures given to retailers like AmiAmi show the normal paintjob.

Yeah I may get this looks fairly big too. Btw Ithink next that revo Dino zooid Edward alpine is the biggest revo to date and conceals almost all joints and possibly utilize the least amount of revol joints while maintaining a ton of articulation . Only real ugly part is rear loin cloth joint they could of left it a solid piece of soft PVC like the front but opted to put revo joint there and it's ugly

they are both very well sculpted, but revoltechs are getting so expensive that i can no longer afford to buy every release they make. these are around $50 after shipping!!!!
