Cross-posting from Chogokin board, since it seems that this place is more appropriate. Hi guys, I'm new at the S.I.C. riders thing. I bought the Movie Realization of Kamen Riders 1 & 2, and I was pretty disappointed I like the style of Chogokinin, the sculpting is simply amazing . But for me, the main attraction of toys is articulation. I'm a big fan of Kamen Rider Den-O, and after seeing the images, it got me thinking whether I should buy more S.I.C. I know you guys have lots of experience with the Chogokin. Can anyone tell me more in detail about articulation? How it compares to the Revoltech line?

When it comes to SIC, your Movie Realization Rider 1 & 2 is pretty much as good as it gets in the toyline. While SIC is focusing more on sculpt and less on articulation (there are many joints, but the range are so so), the Movie Realization Rider 1 & 2 set are more recent and can actually pull off some great action poses & Rider kicks (unless you didn't push the joints too far, worrying of breakage). Though SIC ball joints & hinges aren't that sturdy or long lasting in general, so be prepared to strengthen them with super glue when they get loose. Den-Oh is their latest creation, so it may pose even better than the MR set. Just don't expect major improvements.
Can't really compare with Revoltech, as Revoltech is articulation KING, sculpted in a way thats meant to do crazy action poses.

I see, I was kinda hoping that my Movie Realization was a dumbed-down version. It seems that S.I.C. only works for posing, not for playing at all. I'll buy it, but then I won't play with it as much seeing how limited articualtion. I'm still hoping that articulation has somewhat improved since my previous purchase though

Yeah. SIC is more for posing cool pose then leave it on display for a while, then change pose from time to time. Its not meant to be fiddled with all the time, as the joints will sure wears off fast and get loose. Its not so much as limited per se, as the later ones can really pose well, just like the Den-Oh pics you posted above. But they don't have the clicks or ratchet design like the Revoltechs have, which makes them that much more playable.

Im loving SIC for the past few months... But I just focused on Kamen Rider Black. I know they were one of the first release that have poor articulation and falling armors. But I did some mods w/ my Black Sun and Shadow moon.... ... using revo joints! ;D They will also release them again as SIC Classic 2008 version. I dunno what's new... Try to get some of the latest SICs since they have more pretty good articulation judging from the pics. Also if you really want a good poseable kamen figures, go w/ SH Figuarts. Over 30 pts. of articulation man. Not that detailed as SIC though, and a bit smaller. vic01

haha, I already bought S.I.C. Den-O for posability. And then I thought to myself, why not buy the GE-21 Den-O for playability? SO I just went ahead and bought those two. Cost me almost a hundred though. Also, Den-O IS the latest on S.I.C. line. But what bugs me more is, how did you replace the S.I.C. joints with revoltech?

Thats cool to replace SIC joints with revoltech joints. I bet it needs some cutting and drilling.
Also, for the armors that tend to fall, you can get some Supertape (strong thin double side tape with a red film) to stick them in place. These tapes are very strong, but yet not permanant. Works great for SIC, as well as a lot of other figures.

You can take them off your Revo toys, I think they do sell the joints separately, but I've only read that they are sold in Japan. vic, where did you get the stick putty?

jessedart: Like silvergt said, came from japan. After I bought a cheap Mazinkaiser Black version and Shin Getter black, that seller gave me freebies of 2 packs of revoltech joints and 4 revopliers. Sweet! Just check ebay from time to time. @silvergt: Got the putty at walgreens for just $1.50 per set, I forgot the exact name actually, but it is sticky putty. Medicom Den-O is pretty good for articulation too! Saw a medicom shadow moon from my local toystore, and if I find a good deal for medicom KR Black, i'll get one. Expensive. vic01

Ugh, having the right size drill for the joint will be hard. Plus, if you screw (haha? get it? ) up even once, the toy won't forgive you. In any case, thanks for the info about S.I.C. Also, I will try the Revo replacement when I get tired of one of my revoltechs.

Yeah, the drilling can be trick. Not hard, just tricky. If you don't know a definite size, always go from small. As you can always re-drill to expand the hole, but not the other way around. But it should be pretty easy on the PVC limbs on SIC. They are pretty soft.
