Hah my mom threw many precious and priceless (& pricy!!) items from my youth as well; having the old and new daimos sit side by side must be awesome..
So like, the side-kick pose holds?? That's another reason I order this baby!

I wonder is there is an HK version. Crystal base, keychain, etc. Oh probably, and I'm betting it'll be a key chain or something to go with the whole truck/Tranzor theme, maybe even a case too.

I want a metal briefcase like the one GodMarz got. Actually I wouldn't spend money on that, but it is very, very cool.
My Daimos should arrive next week, I'll post some pics.

The SOC Daimos has just been released in Taiwan. I went to several toyshops to hunt for the best prices this evening, and then made my decision to buy it at one discount shop where I could select a box of my choice. In any case, I had to rush on my way to the toyshops today since there is a typhoon approaching the island and will hit land in a few hours. Well, toyshops in the city will definitely be closed tomorrow. However, I'll get to stay home and play with my SOC Daimos. So far I've managed to take a few pictures while trying out the transformation and other gimmicks for this SOC. I'll continue to update my post as I fiddle and take photos of this toy. BTW, what happened to the original GX-43 SOC DAIMOS thread? I suppose RJ members didn't want to make it the longest thread ever like the one for the GX-31 SOC Voltes. These are all the contents from the main styrofoam tray. InstructionsFront Cover | Back Cover | | | Page 2 | Page 3 | |

CommentsThe transformation of this SOC feels very similar to any one of Takara's Binaltech (Alternator) Transformers. However, certain parts of the transforming process from robot to Tranzer mode can be frustrating. For example, the covers for the legs and upper body are plastic and difficult to tightly shut close. I was going to complain about the poor quality of the paint application on this SOC, but right now I just don't care about it anymore after transforming this toy from robot to Tranzer mode. What I'm saying is the GX-43 is prone to scratching because of the overly complicated transformation process and tight spaces where parts must fit inside. For example, these are the plastic covers for the lower leg. These unfold to form the cover for the entire leg. The base is white plastic with red paint on the top side. In any case, the red paint on the upper leg cover is easily scratched when sliding it out. This can be seen on the following picture. Well, if you're a toy robot collector who likes to have their SOCs free from scratches and dents, then I recommend that you buy at least three sets of the GX-43: one for transforming, one just to leave in robot mode, and another just to leave in Transer mode.

Hey Roboto thanks for the preview, your toy hunt sounds fun! After reading yours and everything online so far, I think I'm sticking with playing my daimos to death! Wouldn't care 'bout scratch anymore..... All my other socs got scratches and dings, I mean I'm very careful with everything I've got; but many would just go broken and cracked because they just aren't meant to be handle in any other way. I figured if I continue to think in preserving my toys in perfect condition they'll just ended up covered in dust, & besides, I'm not selling them

bojidx, I agree with your comment. I think the toy designers and engineers at Bandai meant this SOC to be played with. I guess I'm just too used to SOCs being meant for display only and must change my mindset about these toys being actual toys.
