It supposedly has diecast inner parts for support and movement, but the exterior is all plastic, yes.

I was able to finally get one! ;D Man, I was so excited when I got this last night, but I had to leave it in the staircase overnight and then sneaked it into the apartment right after my girlfriend left for work in the morning. ;D The box is slightly bigger than ones for the Yamato 1/48 scale Valkyrie. It doesn't have a lid that you can lift up to view the contents through a plastic window. The inner box is a styrofoam tray. Yamato used cloth to cover the toy instead of plastic, which can sometimes chemically react with the paint. And yes, you get a whiff of that new toy smell that lingers for a while after opening the styrofoam tray. ;D The AV-98 Patlabor as it is right out of the box. The antennae piece on left side of the colar haven't been inserted. A comparison of the Yamato Patlabor's shield with the Revoltech Patlabor just to give you guys an idea of the size of the Yamato. "This goes here..."The back armor removed to reveal the power pack. There's tiny plastic replica of the RAM disk that boots up the AV-98 Patlabor. Cover of power pack removed to reveal the battery pack. The toy comes with a pair of LR44 batteries for the LED patrol lights gimmick. In my excitement and haste, I placed one of the batteries facing in the wrong direction. I tried for an hour trying to figure out what was wrong with the electronic gimmick. I even tried to boot the RAM disk. Just as I was about to curse the gods for giving me another lemon, I took a second look at the picture on the instruction booklet and discovered my silly mistake. Diecast? Not much. Mostly on the feet.

I had sworn that I wouldn't get this and that the CM's were good enough for me... but even with its proportional issues, I found myself pre-ordering this at BBTS >.<. I'm a slave to the Ingram design, I think. I've owned SO MANY Ingrams over the years, be they 1/60 models, MG Models, CM's toys, Vinyl kits, Revos, PVCs... le sigh, it would be a shame to not put the biggest and most excessive in my collection.
What put me over the edge was the gloss finish, I think. The 1/24 VOTOMS figures left me cold because they were flat plastic. The Ingram looks like it's fully painted (?), which is a big draw for me.

Thanks. I was in a hurry to take the pictures and then put everything away; lest my gf sees this new toy. ;D Does it comes with the shotgun like the CMS? No, the CMS doesn't come with a shotgun like the CM'S. I have that one also, but I haven't broken it out of the box since I bought it three years ago. The Yamato Ingram does come with two nightsticks or batons: an extendable telescopic plastic one and the other is solid diecast. Diecast Plastic The plastic baton is longer than the diecast one. They're constructed in flat plastic because I think Yamato intended it to be some kind of huge plastic model toy that you can later modify. Patlabor Ingram is taller than Danguard A. I'm sure you also have this CM'S figure, quinjester. What was the main character's name? I think it was Nora, right? It's been a while since I saw the anime. I remember back in 1990, my friend from Fukuoka would bring me video taped Patlabor TV episodes whenever he visited Taiwan. View of the cockpit.

Go figure, that's exactly what I did ;D What was the main character's name? I think it was Nora, right? It's been a while since I saw the anime. Noa Izumi If you're such a Patlabor fan, then you're going to cry (that is, tears of joy ;D) when you get this Yamato Ingram. I'm glad to hear that! Now it just needs to arrive at BBTS so it can make its way to my door so the tears can flow...

Good to see that Yamato isn't totally treating the Ingram as a one-off Patlabor production: Command car with figures! Now, if Yamato makes, say, a Brocken or a Griffon, I'll be truly astounded.

"Ouch!" again for my pocketbook. BTW, I don't really like the piston valves on the Yamato Ingram's neck. They just dangle from the head and don't connect to anything below the chest.

All the dudes in the US can do their selves a favor and order the Yamato Patlabor at BBTS for $250 before shipping, few other stores in the US all have it for like $240 shipped.

I finally broke down and ordered the Ingram 1 after BBTS have yet another restock. Looks like Ingram is selling pretty well in HK and Japan (no discounts anywhere except Amiami and backordered in many places). Somehow I have the feeling that prices will finally drop AFTER my purchase. Oh well....... I hung on until both BBTS and HLJ disappointed me by not including this item on their sale list.
Can't wait though! I have been on the fence about this one since the news of it coming out last year and finally pulled the trigger! Now if I could keep myself from buying the no.2 when it comes out.
