By the way, HLJ has Alphonse (Unit 1) on sale at %50 off, which brings it down to US$166.62. Nice deal. It's been %40 off a few times before.
The blue US Ingram is even cheaper at %65 off. That means US$116.63! I grabbed Alphonse and was very tempted to grab this one as well.
Ota's Ingram 2 is still full price... too bad.
HLJ's %50 off FedEx shipping and %20 off EMS offers are still valid.

I'd totally pick up a unit 2 if it were discounted, but I can't muster the interest in that blue version, even at a ludicrous discount.

Ditto. I have never seen the episode it's from, so to me it's just a blue Alphonse and I'm not really into colour variants (and the money pit that they are).
My plan is to buy Unit 1, grab the patrol car model, keep watching for a sale on Unit 2 and wish really hard for a 1/24 Type-Zero. If the latter comes true, I'll probably be too ecstatic to wait for a sale. I'll jump on the first pre-order I see.

i haven't seen unit 2 on sale anywhere as of yet. I do hope it will eventually happen.
Now, I just hope the patrol car unit won't need too much work to look good. I wouldn't think so, but you never know.

Unit 2 is on it's way to my house. I seriously can't wait (I don't have a Unit 1). Yay! Does anybody else think it's a little odd that the Type Zero seems to always get the shaft? I personally like the regular unit design better but I don't think most people do, so you would think making the unit zero would be a no brainer?

Type Zero seems to always get the shaft? Oh man, if that was an unintentional pun, I still laughed. (Shaft is the name of the company who developed the Griffon, which did some bad, bad things to the Zeroes) You're going to love the figure, I think. As for the zero, yeah, it doesn't seem to get as much love as the Ingrams, but considering the Ingram has always been the "hero" mech of the show, it sort of fits. Myself, I've never been able to muster the same love for the Zero as I have for Alphonse. I dunno, the design doesn't speak to me, I guess.

I will get one if Yamato make a 1/24 Type Zero.

Ok, so I've had this thing for awhile now and I've been holding off from posting about it as I've let my feelings percolate about it. Final conclusion you ask? KILLER FIGURE. There is practically nothing about this figure that does not absolutely rock in the figure collecting world. I know this is no big surprise, but really the whole production is just absolutely stunning and ranks in my top three favorite figures I own.
Just a side note here. Even though the Yamato Ingram is heads and shoulders above CMs Ingram, there is still a place for the little CM Ingram. The Yamato is the ultimate rendition of all Ingrams ever produced, but the CM version is an easy, handheld, action figure toy that is easy to mess around with. You can't beat the Yamato. Very, very few figures can even comparatively stand in it's same class as it blows most figures to dust. It's stellar. But at the same time, not a table top toy to monkey around with, or even to try out quick new poses. I'm probably going to be giving away the CM as a Christmas or birthday present to one of my nephews, but if it wasn't for this, I I would still hang on to it, as it is still a nice little solid figure.

I would never get rid of my CM's Ingrams . Not only are they awesome toys, they have an in-scale Griffon and Brocken (even if it's garbage) to arrest. If I had one complaint about the Yamato is that it's almost a victim of its huge size. The waist joint is a liiiittle loose (and I'm not talking the ball joint portion, but the ratchet. The figure is almost too big and too heavy for that ratcheting joint so if you wobble the figure it's liable to ratchet out of position), and I'm not a huge fan of the way the hip armor is free floating on the legs. Otherwise, it's pretty boss and makes for quite an amazing display.

Yeah you're right. I do use a stand to display mine and though he can do almost any pose he's not exactly stable. I guess I let the size and super cool gimmicks get to my head and over shadow the engineering deficiencies.

Although I have the normal version, I wonder if any members here has the CLAT version. I would love to see some photo.

Xiombarg: How does this compare to the 1/12 Votom?

It's sad, but I actually don't have the 1/12 Votom and I've haven't had the chance to inspect one in person to be able to make an accurate assessment.
I'm not sure if I really have a figure that I can compare it to, because it's not really like a SOC. In a lot of ways the best SOCs achieve more because of diecast content and extreme engineering, such as Baikanfu. But if you like the Ingram design (which I love) this thing really brings a degree of articulated realism, awesome display, and a superior implementation of gimmicks that hasn't been seen in an Ingram figure before. So quite honestly I'm not really sure what to compare it to.

I should clarify that it holds it's poses fairly well, but because of it's height there is a lot of leverage to be balanced and I wouldn't leave it on the shelf without support.

I have to say it's a very nice display piece especially if you place it next to a Wave 1/24 Tachikoma I love the CM's too, just as much if not more, since I can actually play a little more with it and also display it next to the rest of their huge Patlabor line. It also already had almost every major gimmick of the Yamato and lots of poseability to boot

I can shoot some (bad) photos of the Ingram with the Yamato VOTOMS Scopedog if people like - they're fairly similar in size. The Ingram manages to be quite a bit better due to the virtue of better joints (despite some wobbliness, the Scopedog is definitely a more finicky figure, with some pretty questionable friction joints).
