Reeling it back on topic of the Yamato Ingram;
I really like the attention the small details on it but it's almost too much. Stuff like the extra bullets in the left leg I didn't even utilize because the bullets and the spaces for them are so tiny that even with tweezers it's incredibly hard to place them in the holes.
The size is actually a but much as well... I get it because a goid numver if the gimmicks wouldn't be possible if it weren't as big but it really doesn't display well with anything else. I think the ThreeZero will be better in that aspect being 1/35.

Comparison with other bots. The Yamato is a bit bug for my tastes in terms of shelf presence. Knowing the size if the Ingrams in show it's really iff putting in a mixed display.

Holy carp! I never realized it was that big! What is that, 1/18th scale? It’s gotta be getting close to scale for 3 1/2” Action figures.

Shooting myself in the foot for not buying the blue Kanuka Clancy version when I saw it show up on Amazon for like $150 shopped some 6 years ago. At the time I didn't like the design, but now...
Well, at least I got the Yammie DCS-J Shield Liger instead around that same time. Still remains the greatest piece of Gokin in my collection.
Ooo! The Shield Liger is another grail I’ve never seen in the wild at a reasonable price.

This is my favorite toy ever..... love the shelf presence. It really needs to be displayed by itself with the scaled patrol car and figures.

great pictures and reviews, this brings back a ton of memories! I believe Yamato only released Unit-1, Unit-2. and the blue "U.S.A" version, they never released a Type-Zero which was a shame since that's my favorite. But if you collected this line there was a 1/24 scale model of the type-Zero which look great with these but is pretty hard to find at a reasonable price. www.otakuhq.com/figures/11268

Does Arcadia have the ability to reproduce the Yamato ones?

Does Arcadia have the ability to reproduce the Yamato ones? I guess it would depend if Yamato turned into Arcadia or if Arcadia bought Yamato and if so did they get the license to Patlabor or just Macross? Edit - Found this article and from the looks of it Arcadia has the rights to Macross and Megazone only or only wants to make Macross and Megazone stuff. The article is 2 years old though. www.forbes.com/sites/olliebarder/2017/09/08/arcadia-talks-about-how-it-makes-the-best-macross-and-megazone-23-toys-out-there/#6aaad742e974

Thank you for that information. Even though I'm glad to have it, it does kind of suck that the molds and rights are just dead. I'd buy another if a reissue ever occured for sure. -------------------- Finishing up the gallery. Full gallery will be up tomorrow. Will be a mixture of clean white and colored BG.

These Yamato ones are awesome but if there are other options I would be thankful to hear them. It depends on what you're looking for in one and what Patrol Labor you're looking for. This is the Ingram Unit 1. Do you want that? A unit 2? 3? Zero? A number of companies have done Ingram units, helldivers, and Griffons from CMS to Revoltech to Bandai MG models at a variety of scales. I'm not going to derail this thread with talking about 50 other companies but a great resource that has a variety of Patlabor stuff reviewed is toyboxcollectiondx. I used it quite a bit when getting into Patlabor collectibles. Feel free to PM me if you have any particular questions.

(The engineering of the head can be annoying at first, but once you've put it together it's fine.) Just don't jump on the first overpriced Ebay listing you find: they can still be found relatively cheap if you wait.

It might help if you give some price ranges that he should be looking out for so if he chooses to look he can have a standard set. I'd throw out numbers myself but I've never looked into the CMS ones.

I'd throw out numbers myself but I've never looked into the CMS ones. They used to go at around the original MSRP approximately a year ago - last time I considered selling my sets and changed my mind -, so about a hundred dollars. Not much of a difference in price between new and complete in open box ones. Doesn't look like the market price has changed since then. I wouldn't pay more than $150 for a MISB one.
