I checked my Black King last night, and I have one set blue, and one set red. I also checked my Red Kings, and both have identical leg moldings to the Black Kings. On your picture above, the Red King has what looks like a differen molding, and is black.
I know it's extremely easy to mix the parts up on these guys, but if I look in the boxes, the parts can only fit in one place.
Is the 'black-legged-Red-King' loose? You take great pics - if you get the time, could you take some pics of the various Red & Black King legs?
Thanks!

"Took some better pics of mine for an article I am writing about Chogokin Godzilla toys.
Enjoy!"
Hey sketch, Great pics!!! Not to bag on ya, but just a quick correction. Those are Zinclon not Chogokin. Chogokin are Popy only. Thought I would throw that out there.
Also, where is the article being published. Can't wait!

Sjoen Yea I was drunk that night and bagged them all into the old "chogokin" category. And Zincron is also correct. Publish, I wish. Just a write up for a post with historical data. Perhaps someone would publish, but it all already got done in Supa7.

Yeah, Sketch - your pics are good. Mine look like blurred postage stamps....
I just wanted to see the black legs on Red King. And I'm sure you;ve seen the 'prototype' box King Joe on ebay - he's got a box of Arks pictured there, and it looks like his Red King has black legs too.
The legs on my ones look like different shapes as well as colors - and one of mine is definitely original, as it was sealed when I got it. The other is loose, but still has the same shape legs.

Well, I found the red king box has spare legs in the upper right that are red, and same shape as blue legs on black king. Someone way in the past must have messed with the parts, or just quick changes right from the factory. They're all cool. GATLING GUN!!!

I think I sorted it out - for mine at least. The legs in the top right corner of the box are the black ones shown in the picture. They have an additional little 'flare' at the bottom, and the styro is perfectly shaped with a corresponding flare - so that;s where the factory meant them to be. However, on the factory photos that come in and on the box, it shows the figure with the black legs in place, so -
if you want it original as per box - keep the red (or blue) legs on it. If you want it original as per factory photos - put the black legs on it.
You know - either way doesn't matter. I was just curious!

LOL! And the reason for not including is very obvious when you consider that the US version packaging and marketing had all reference to King Kong removed due to copyrights etc. The keychain is embossed with "Kong".

your right. that's the reason it's not included. it would have been cool if it was recast as "mech-gorilla" for the usa boxed kong. +++KLANG+++

I have a US Kong, with, of course, no ball and chain. However, my Japanese one has a ball and chain, and the ball is solid 'gold' - ie no indent, and no 'Kong' writing.... Everything else is the same - chain, over-center fastener, etc, and it fits in the styro nicely.
I don't have it on my car keys though.
