My main issue with the V1 was the nonexistent locking of the shoulders/liner gao. If they fix that, the rest is gravy.

I have CM's Star Gaogaigar and although nice to look at, I must say the old DX GGG/Goldymarg set was much better. Hopefully V2 will be sturdier and more playable.

Hate the movable faceplate... those who own the Gao Figh Gar/Gao Gai Go probably know why. Love the articulated hands, they rock!!!

Ohhh.. articulated fingers. Here's hoping the knees are diecast (hard to be 100% certain from the pics but they sure do look like it) Good to see the feet AND elbows have diecast now and the helmet seems more "locked" in place than the first release. I can't say if I like the lack of "shiny chrome" though. thanks Niko! Gold

Definitely got metal knees. Only the HK Limited version will be lacking chrome, as well, so chrome lovers rejoice: EDIT: one minor disappointment; it looks like even though they're making the kneejoints metal (finally), they're keeping the shins plastic. Both the shins and thighs of the GGGG Gaigar figure were diecast, so it's a bit of a pity to see CM's take one step forward in the knees, but one step back on the shins. The more weight they can put down low in the feet and legs the better. EDIT #2: I just realized in the picture grouping that the inner component of Liner Gao is in black plastic, like the head, which gives me hope that it too has been remolded, hopefully to actually lock into place on the body. That would be a HUGE improvement to the figure, really only leaving the unstable lion's mane components as the final remaining snafu, assuming that isn't being fixed as well.

I'm really looking forward for this too. I remember that the original was priced around 12,000 - 13,000 Y, but seing all this "improvements", I'm pretty sure that the price may go as high as 15,000 - 17,000 Y. GGGG Ver. 2's price didn't go up at all, because, presumably, there were no heavy / significant contents of metal added.
Strange trivia, tho. Before quinjester pointed out that the shins are not metal, I've always assumed that Gaigars of GGGG, GGG and GFG are exactly the same in terms of structure and metal content. Well, at least the knees are metal, tho.
EDIT: Can the Ver. 1 stand with its feet flat on the ground? The Ver. 2 sure seem can. Have CMS engineered new ankle joints too?

I believe the official price is 26,000 yen. It comes with Goldy Marg & Star GGG parts.

Good god. $280? Do you have a source on this? That's... that's like the price of the GFG/GaoGaiGo Set. And that was two toys. AND an extra stealth gao.

HLJ Early Bird Special is about $273, so regular price is indeed about $280. www.hlj.com/product/CMS65250Since I am new collecting GGG and other robots from the Brave series, I bit the bullet and pre-ordered one.

More pics of the set: www.amiami.com/shop?vgForm=ProductInfo&sku=TOY-RBT-0557&template=review.htmlAt that price, my love-hate relationship with CM's is starting to sway more to one side than the other. Looking at the pics, it doesn't look like the mane locks in any better, or that the liner gao looks any different. Gah. At that price, I wont be pre-ordering either way. I hate to say things like "I'll hope for it to go on massive discount" since those sorts of situations hurt the manufacturers (who wants to stock an item that they can only sell at a loss?), but in CM's case I'm really getting to the point where I can't keep up. I know, I know. Whine whine whine. At least I didn't pay more than $50 for my V1, slightly-incomplete GGG
