I think Soundwave would be a pretty easy MP to make, the original was just so nice to begin with and all they would have to do is make it slightly larger with better articulation, perhaps with even a Mp3 player built it. Bumblebee would be cool too but it would depend on if they can get the VW Bug likeness license. But I'm also thinking Galvatron and Rodimus would be up there too, although I don't think those too were as popular in North America as they were in Japan.

Sorry if I skip, but I have all three MP-1 versions, Takara, US, and DVD. Why is the DVD version crap? I've changed my stacks to have the longer stacks and I can't really tell the difference between the that one and the others exact for paint, so why is it "crap"?
The DVD version comes with a display base that has prime talking + all the accessories the other two came with sans the cardboard trailer...but who cares?

About MP-XX Devastator, takara should take into consideration some astonishing works of Frenzyrumble... www.frenzyrumble.com/His Devastator is quite THE masterpiece (check his Dinobots too)... They are a lot people who puting a lot in transformers univers, creating models or upgrading actual series -> Fansproject City Commander ( Shadow and Powered version too) deserve to have an official release... Transformers is living because fans and new "addicted" kids include all of this in their life... Hasbro, since the beginning, made 3 billions benefit with toy lines. thank to you and me ! So... now, they could easy creating a masterpiece Devastator, we all have hunger for it. The song will be "6 models to collect" ! And this is a huge marketing pervert method, imagine that, the schedule will be : 1 constructicon model every 2 month... you are addicted for an entire year. ... and our bank account too.

Call me crazy, but I'd have no interest in a MP devastator sold in pieces... Frenzy Rumble's stuff is certainly nice, but it's still based off of the "connect the robots via big chunks of unrelated body parts" concept which I'm not a huge fan of.
If they redesigned the figures so that they were totally inclusive and had all the necessary pieces for the combined mode integrated into their bodies (like the SOC Godmars, for example), I might be a bit more interested, but only if it were as a giftset and the individual constructicons were sized so that the final version wasn't too large.

Off course having including connection system for each robot is better. But an oversized Devastor will be great (and expensive too)...

Yep, he was announced at Botcon as a Walmart Exclusive. He has a slightly different deco, but not enough for me to want to buy him a second time, not like the WM Starscream.

Why don't Takara spend their time to make new Masterpiece instead of just reissuing the same Masterpiece with additional accessory?

Because it's sure to sell out since it's already a proven seller and an exclusive to boot.
THAT is the version I want to see released over here. I'll never display Grimlock with a serving tray or apron, but I would definitely display him with a crown. Plus that's a box tailor made for American buyers, I have to wonder if the Japanese even really get the reference. Let alone read the box...
But we should be hearing about the next Masterpiece in the coming months. It should also be a new mold since they've pretty much exhausted all of the repaint potential of what's been released. That is, unless they pull an MP-04 and complete Megatron next. Actually, that wouldn't surprise me at all...

Or they could retool Starscream to make Dirge, Ramjet, and Thrust. Probably cheaper than a completely new mold. And once you retool it for one them, the last two become easier.

True, but I'm not sure how they would cram a cone-head into the already tight head space. I suppose a collapsible head could work.

Well, preorders for the King Grimlock have started poping up (BBTS & TFsource) and I can see that I will not be getting one. $225-$250 for a figure that is basicly a repaint of one I already have is too much for me. I'm not sure how 13000 yen converts to $250 USD, but I don't like their conversion factors.
