Hmmm... if I buy 500 of them and throw them into a brick wall, will they form SOC Shin Dragon?

Hmmm... if I buy 500 of them and throw them into a brick wall, will they form SOC Shin Dragon? More accurately, you need hundreds of thousands of Dragon, Liger and Poseidon machines.

Looks like they followed the art style from the Anime like Aoshima does. It's a nice change but I would have preferred if they took the updated design and SOCized it, I mean made it more "realistic" but still it looks great. I just hope they don't follow Aoshima and just release one or two Getters and not all three, it just seems wrong to me not to have all three Getters next to each other.

I agree with you Chen, im also hoping they release the entire Getter trio, its just not gonna be the same if its only Getter Dragon or Getter Robo 1
as for the picture...i just sh*t and wet myself both at same time......this totally proves that the end of the world is at hand, by getter dragon's hands that is.

I'm thinking this would have looked way better with chrome thighs and biceps. I sincerely hope Bandai hasn't stopped doing that on their regular releases.

The "badass" mass-produced Ryger and Poseidon got so little airtime in the OVA. I won't be surprised if Bandai won't make those, although I will still buy all three if they release them!
There is a better chance that Getter 2 and Getter 3 will be made from the OVA given that Hayato and Musashi piloted them at least for a few mins in the show.
Also, from a marketing point of view, it is easier to sell Getter 2 and 3 compared to the "badass Ryger and Poseidon. Since the Armageddon OVA, the Getter G trio has lost a lot of love for their roles as bad guys.

Are the Getter G really bad guys in the show though? Thought Koen & Stinger are the bad guys, while Saotome just used the Getter Gs as building blocks of Shin Dragon. So while Ryoma fight a bunch of them, don't really see the Gs as bad guys per se.
I wasn't that interested in SOC Dragon (try to be suffice with the Revoltech), but those Bandai official pics looks real good. They picked some of the best angles. Very nice.

The mass-produced Getter Dragons were not the real enemies. But appearing the show against the hero Ryoma, everyone assumed they are bad. And when the asses of the thousands of them were kicked so hard by the supposedly weaker Getter 1, Getter Dragon has lost its hero status. A far cry from the Starvengers and Getter G of the 70s for the younger fans who hasn't seen that show. I wonder whether Bandai will release the other version of Getter Dragon, the one that the invaderized Saotome piloted in the fight against the Shin Getter team inside Shin Dragon. That one looks even more badass, with teeth that bites Shin Dragon like a dracula

Getterget - I am not familair with the Shin Dragon with teeth that bites. Anyone got a picture of that bad boy? It is not Shin Dragon, it is the version Getter Dragon piloted by Saotome inside Shin Dragon (slightly different from the new SOC version which was mass-produced in the anime) I don't have a pic of showing the teeth. But found another on the net. In the fight, Getter Dragon bit Shin Getter's neck from behind after taking out the boomerang in front of its mouthpiece. If you search for the Stonersunshine clip on youtube, you will probably see it.

another head that removes the mouth plate and shows the sinister face. No, because this is not Metal Beast Dragon. Not only is the MB Dragon's head different from the OVA Getter Dragon, even the rest of the body has some design differences. Reposting these pics for comparison: Getter Dragon (OVA version) Metal Beast Dragon I think this is what he is talking but I could be wrong.

Yeah, that was it. The face guard was being used as a "Great Boomerang", revealing the face and teeth under it, which also have a great resemblance of Great Mazinger's face & ears. A lot of nice homage in this show, if you look closely. Not to mention the Ryoma's "Grendizer cockpit sequence. A great show with very nice designs/updates with some nice twist. Still remember being quite shock when Getter 1 is battling hordes of Getter Gs. Very memorable. Just wish they spell out the plot just a bit more to make it less confusing, and have higher budget on some of the middle episodes. Quality drops big time on a few. But episode 1 & 11 are best drawn with some really badass sequence. Here is the best action sequence of this show. If you still haven't seen the show, you might want to skip it for spoilers: But back to SOC, not being as playable as the original Getter G set (magnetic parts swapping) can hurt the OVA set quite a bit, even if Bandai later on decided to make OVA Lyger & Poseidon. They sure look cool though, more beefy.
