Ha, ha... I remember that! As a matter of fact, it was my cousin that got me started with the Aoshima. He used to taunt me with regards on how well made and heavy the Shin Getter 1 was, and how poorly designed were the Gx-01 and Gx-02 were in comparison. Hell, there were even some pictures in one of the bigger websites showing the Shin Getter mocking the SOC Mazinger Z. Aoshima rules!
However, I notice you didn't mention ANY Mazinger in your wishlist... that breaks my heart!

Aoshima has been doing many spaceships and vehicles. I hope they do a Macross SDF-1 too.

i love aoshima diecast quality figures just that I'm sick of their repaints and do not believe in collecting multiples of the same damn figure/mold.
Were they to come out with a different robot character that has not been over-done to death (such as Mazinger, Getter 1 and others similar) I'd probably bite.
On a side note it is true that Aoshima's diecast line is alive and living it just switched focus to vehicles & spacehips.
They do GREAT work... bought the Aliens Dropship and APC, Airwolf and the Terminator Endoskeleton .....simply fantastic... great detail, quality and metal content.
I intend to pick up the Maser some day.
Quite frankly, I for one am quite pleased they've moved on from Getters & Mazinkaizers it was getting really mind numbingly redundant.

They should get a lock on the Mospeada license and produce a proper renewal version of the Legioss. They did such a great job with the Tread (I understand they co-produced it with Toynami) that it would be a shame to let such cool toys go to waste when paired with the utterly inferior Legioss they slapped together with Toynami's molds.

I don't mind their repaints actually. I just don't buy them if they are not the variant I am looking for. If thats what it takes for the company to cover the cost, it doesn't bother me if Aoshima keeps doing it. What does make me wonder is why it took so long for Aoshima to not jump in and develop Shin Getter 3, before Bandai or someone else takes the opportunity. A lot of folks love the Shin Getter 1, and also bought the Shin 2, waiting eagerly for Shin 3. Its a mold waiting to sell, and will be solid as hell (thanks to the anime design), so you can't really go wrong. So maybe Aoshima is really running out of money to develop almost anything that has a little risk. That would be kind of sad.
The Shin 1 and my Harlock ship is pretty awesome. Black Getter not too shabby too. So don't want to see this line dies off.

The reason I love Aoshima is that they make high quality, solid, diecast figures. I absolutely would not want an Aoshima littered with a ton of plastic/pvc turds/accessories. Nor would I want a cheap plastic stand with a big ugly nameplate as if I couldn't identify the robot myself. That is Bandai's style not Aoshima's. what aoshima need to do is: -start doing new molds... for new characters.. -include more accessories with each character -less color variations (maybe 3 is good !! original , metallic & black) -better gasha ... it was a good idea to include a gasha of a character with each of their robots ... but the gasha quality were really sloppy .... good idea just need to be fixed. -include some kind of display base!! at least to hold the non used accessories.

I don't know if I would call the accessories Bandai gives you as turds and there is always the option of leaving them and the stand in the box. My only beef and it really isn't a beef at all is that since Aoshima follows the Anime design so closely you better be a fan of the look of the Anime in the first place. It's a shame though that Aoshima doesn't have the size or resources of Bandai or we would have seen way more unique figures instead of the 7 or 8 they have now.

Mazinger. ;D zozo-Magengar yup i didn't... ;D ;D ;D i also wish for a re-issue of aoshima japan version limited, same design with gold old chrome contrasted with black arms and legs, but with red wings, 2 chrome swords and a better paint job with the kaiser mouth (like the one they did with the purple version). for me that will be a perfect aoshima kaiser.....

Lead me on this guys, only have the mazinkaizer, whats the good version of aoshima of Getter 1 and shin getter. Thanks Well depends what you like. Anime color or metallic? Black version? Limited versions? Weathered versions??? In my case I went for the anime color Getter-1 and Neo Getter initially. I also purchased the first version of the Shin Getter (1 and 2). However, I also purchased the Black versions of the Shin Getters and Neo Getter, the Training, Cloaked and Damaged version of Getter-1, the Training Neo Getter, and the Shin Getter "W" version. They're all good, so you can't go wrong. ;D }D jeeg448, if you like metallic robots, Getter 1 has a metallic version available with the body in metallic pearl and lower body in gold versus yellow. Otherwise, the weathering version is the best. The body, the wings and even the guns have the weathering effect. As for Shin Getter 1, I suggest you get the colour versions instead of black ones if you are only buying one. While the 2 black versions are awesome, you don't get the "normal" colour schemes that you can identify with more. I recommend the weathering W-wings version. The paint job is great. You also get 2 pair of wings plus both the scythe and tomahawk. Otherwise, the "real colour 500 limited" version is also good too, all the accessories are the same except the colour of the body.

I agree with this. Although, I personally can live without weathered versions, but I know they are popular, so I can understand a later release.

I agree with this. Although, I personally can live without weathered versions, but I know they are popular, so I can understand a later release. I too thought before that there were too many version released by Aoshima. After buying their product, I think it actually gives collectors more options and therefore a good thing for consumers. For example, weathering metallic version has greater detail than weathering version or metallic version. Releasing multiple versions hurts Aoshima as a company as it pisses certain people off. Whenever a new version comes out, Aoshima is said to be milking fan's interest to the extreme. Perhaps they should just announce 3 or 4 different versions every time. When consumers are informed, they are less likely to feel cheated. I believe those who want to buy multiple versions will still buy them all, i.e. no loss revenue for Aoshima disclosing what they will make. Those who wants only one will buy just one, i.e. no gain for Aoshima delaying such announcements. Aoshima released the Getter variations over a very long time, perhaps the company did not plan out all the versions they were going to release down the years. But since they already have the experience (and track record) of releasing every colour versions conceivable (anime colour, repaint, metallic, black and chrome, black and charcoal, weathering, weathering metallic, gold chest panels, etc....), they can release 3 of 4 versions concurrently in smaller quantities, let the consumers choose and regain their reputation. I certainly hope it is not true that Aoshima does not have the licence to release Dynamic Production products anymore. Or that they do not have the money to release a new robot (we are still dying to see a Shin Getter 3, among others). There is still a lot of interest in Aoshima products if they can bring them to the market.
