I don't know if you've noticed, but I whine CONSTANTLY about people making more Evas ... and Eva-01 is probably more of a money maker than Mazinger at this point, to boot. Gainax has built a damn empire on Evangelion money.

I'd jump for joy to see a Mazinger toy made by some new manufacturer or a new toyline. I'd like to see more Mazinger model kits in many different price-ranges, varieties, and with crazy features, made by other manufacturers besides Ban-DUH.
But I have to admit, I do feel guilty when I see Mazinger gettin all the remakes and re-hashed So Many Friggin Times by the same toy company... it does rather seem like we're beaten over the head too much with Maz- it really becoming so overkill, and it's killing my excitement now.
And, I do feel bad for fans of other favorite classic robots which haven't even been SOC'ed yet.
Ok, so yet another Mazinger. Let's see what this one's got that any of the other Mazinger toys Don't have... ...as in, WTF is New?

People, better get used to it. Mazinger will continue to rule the SR market for years to come, right there with EVAs and Gundams.
I never get tired of Mazinger, but I also collect almost everything else that attracts my attention. There is only one thing that I frown upon even if it is Mazinger related, REPAINTS!!! However, I do not consider repaints as separate releases. Unfortunately, it seems many people do and that is why the whine so much...
Hey, do what I do - if I don't like them, I don't buy them. You will be much happier...

I'm okay with another Mazinger -- el primer de los Super Robots...y mi favorito. But I'm not sold on yet ANOTHER Bandai line of robots. I get that they want their share of thr Revoltech/Figma market, but yet another line to add to SOC, SOC Spec, and the DX series also. I don't know....no se.

I wish something NEW would happen... ...like, Revoltech going "diecast"-- same detail and sculpt process. Might turn out to be expensive, but at least they'd be enjoyable in that size scale. ;D Back on topic, I really hope whatever this new thing is from Bandai will knock my fungy sox off.

I doubt it - The SOC line is already a high dollar line, while the Robot Spirits line is more budget conscious. What Bandai DOESN'T have is a "bridge" line that could act as an intermediate between the two; a little more costly than the RD figures, but with a taste of the SOC diecast and presentation. This is where I would see this line fitting in; there's not much of a place for it, otherwise. Probably pretty obvious at this point but couldn't agree more.

Hey...! I've been following the little blog thing they have in the website and the most recent entry loosely says "In addition, the presentation you are visiting us Please note it will be by invitation only"!!! WTF???!!! Does this mean that they will not let everyone know what the figures are going to be?!!! A now famous "Rhino anatomy eating" phrase comes to mind, Bandai!!! }(

This is what I got from Yahoo!'s Babelfish...
"Furthermore, in concert because those where attendance it can receive become only the invitation person please acknowledge beforehand."
I copied the japanese text from the recent post entry at that webpage located beneath them sihlouettes. I haven't tried all the previous posts leading up to that.
Anyway, if This were to be the case ("by Invitation only") for seeing this upcoming preview, I think it's pretty lame... like, is that just an "exclusive" available only to folks in a certain region? I hope Not. What about the rest of us loyal Bandai consumers world-wide?! (Yeah, in this hobby, there are many fans who spend LOTS of money buying SOCs and Chogokins from Bandai.)
Fck the rhino, they can suck the juice outta my hairy cave!

They previously were inviting various media and bloggers to the event, most likely there was a sign up cut off that has now closed, so they won't be permitting any other entries. I don't think this will make info any harder to get since I'm sure there won't be an info embargo once it's over.

The Bandai public relations folks are being a-holes about the whole thing. It will not kill them to post pics in their website for the entire world to see. I am really starting to dislike Bandai. What? Bandai doesn't want people from other countries to see their upcoming and FULLY LICENSED products? They just want to limit that priviledge to the Japanese people? That is just a very good way to earn customer loyalty... blehhhh!

I didn't even think about the time change.. So Japan is almost a day ahead of the American continent, and assuming they give out the info by say 7:00 pm their time.. leaves something like 6 hours, I think.

Thanks for the info!
Wow, this looks like my perfect toy line. Small yet articulated versions of cool robots. Mazingers hips are a bit weird but the poses it can do and that godly awesome rocket punch effect more than make up for it in my book.

Finally we can put this megaman/"bandai hets us ZOMG!" stuff to rest I like the effect parts. This mazinger (my first!) will fit perfectly with my High Dream Grendizer. Alteisen is a no-brainer, but I hope and pray that Bandai will do what needs to be done and make Weissritter too. Not doing that would be truly unforgivable.
