It has to be an overall production thing, because it's not just the Shin Getter, the ES Gokin releases have all slipped by several months as well. Maybe the factory they were using in China shut down or something.

Perhaps lack of funds to continue the projects. Fewture must be experiencing dificulties for sure.

It seems it is now scheduled for a summer release. It seems the prototype and the production type will be different with the production type being 5% larger with a 20% larger wings and some kind of special face which it looks like may light up. So I'm guessing either the factory in China screwed up the initial size or Fewture went back and made changes so it's probably holding up all their diecast items. artstorm.co.jp/exgokin_shingetter1.html

If they are holding the release until they can assure near perfect figures, then I have no problem. Actually, I have no problem regardless because it allows me to save some $$$$ to pay for it...

I agree with most of the speculation that this is being held up for quality concerns. Here in Bangkok alot of the collectors are speculating that same thing. This is probably thier best EX yet and are having a hard time getting a production run to match that awesome looking prototype thats been on there website for ever. They know this has to please! Thier site is saying a "summer release". Lets hope it makes an appearance no later thatn August. I need some time so save for this sucker too!

As excited as I am about this release I do wonder how this will affect future releases
so that there will be more time(months /years) between figures?
I absolutely want a perfect figure (no qc issues) but will we see only one great figure per year ?

I agree with what most of you are saying. I'd rather wait and get a perfect figure.
Considering what this Getter costs, I think Fewture can't afford any slip ups on this big boy. However what I find a bit strange is that there hasn't been any news or hearsay whatsoever on what the next figure in the EX line is going to be. OK.....granted.....they might be waiting for the release of the Getter before announcing the next one, but considering the long delay...........

Skizz, I'm betting its EX Robot Getter1 BLACK Version!!l and twice as much! lol True there has been very little information coming out of Fewture regarding this line. Hoping for some great stuff, I'd like to see Mazinkaiser or a Raideen but thats just me! I'm glad there not pumping em' out This line is really expensive to keep up with.

Well, they can't go on talking about future figures when they have yet to release this one.

From pre-order to (hopeful) delivery will be 1 year for the Shin Getter 1. That has to be a new record for Fewture.

I hope Fewture does not discontinue the EX line. They are pricey, and probably require a lot of engineering effort to produce. And I'm not sure how well some of the recent releases have sold, seeing that the Getter Repaints -- especially Getter 3 (going for <$200USD all over the web) -- are being discounted. I hope my worry is in vain cause I think this is the most exciting line of toys/figues out there at the moment. (My apologies to the ES line....hahaha.)

I centainly hope the EX Gokin line is still alive.
BTW, the ES Getters are now delayed till July 25, 2010! This is the 2nd or 3rd time they have been delayed.
