What's the Robotech robolinks toy?? Sadly doesn't look like I will make it this year. We will be down in Dec but Nov was mad expensive for some odd reason. Damn, sorry to hear. I was looking forward to checking out those tats in person. ONLY 2 WEEKS AWAY!! Getting real excited. Still trying to finalize plans, though.

Is anyone interested in the front mission action figures? I'd like to trade them for something more vintage-y.

I feel bad for implying that I would only have had a good time if I picked up a certain toy or another. Even if I had walked away empty handed, this would have been totally worth it. Getting to meet the evil king macrocranios was a treat. He shared with me some of his wisdom regarding cover art on transformers coloring books, and I presented him with a tool bot in honor of his work as the evil king. He also brought a friend, with whom I was able to discuss video games and b*tch about fist of the north star. Then there was Ed's collection, which I could have spent hours gawking at. Seeing Kingboy again is always good. He gave me a sweet deal on some mini bullmarks, and we supped on tasty thai with repairtechjon. I educated them on matters of banh mi (though I roll with the non-pig version): I was glad to share knowledge of one of my childhood gems, which were letters that transformed into robots: It was over all too quickly. Being there was probably akin to the experience of being a dog: swamped by exciting stimuli at every corner, and wanting to investigate them all at once. A very profound thank you is owed to Godaikin, for donating his grendizer, which I somehow won! I felt like miss america clutching a bouquet. I wanted more trade time, so I could dish out more of my trade fodder for free. There's nothing like winning a cool jumbo to make you swell with generosity. It was a perfect example of what mark nagata calls toy karma. At least I got to reward black getter's son for drawing my name out of a pumpkin. I let him walk away with a boxed beast wars neo convoy mastodon f**kcanon deluxe. My thanks to the people who put this event together.

Thanks to all, and to all a good night! Haha. Awesome day, and a great leg of an extended Florida odyssey, that has involved meeting and hanging out with some great people, and the fun of seeing at least 3 great, unique collections so far. I'm still on the road, so I'll post more when I get home, including "robots-at-the-beach" traveling pics. Special thanks to Ed and his long-suffering family for having the inmates out for a playday free of the asylum! Yay!

I'm back home safe and sound (can't say the same for my car). While Saturday was great, I had quite an ordeal Sunday. More on this later. I just wanted to thank Ed and Jack for opening up their homes to us. We had quite a large turnout, and it was great to meet and/or catch up with many forum members and non-forum collectors. I'm especially glad that many individuals made the long trip over to St. Pete from their various locales (including repairtechjon who made the trek from NY!). We were also fortunate to have Skype sessions with Erik S. and diceone (Sean G.). There was quite a varied group, with collectors of many different toy lines present. I'm going to start working on a website write-up of the event, though it may take me a little bit to get it finalized. If anyone has any great photos to share that I can incorporate into the article, please throw them up! I also tried to take many "Toys on the Move" photos, but I'm not sure if many came out. Anyway, its always strange to get back to your normal daily life after an event like this. But its Monday morning, so back to work.

Not sure if anyone noticed, but I put up my write-up of the summit on the website: robot-japan.com/Its kind of rambling and a little too detail oriented, but I just wanted to get my personal experience up, and do so quickly before everyone loses interest with the passing of time. So its not the best. Also, with so many people, and with people breaking off for personal side excursions, there were a lot of side stories going on that I was not part of. Please feel free to add to the writeup via the comment section below. I'd love to hear everyone else's personal experiences.

Great writeup Myles!
It was a great time, and great to meet some old online friends, and new faces. Thanks especially to Ed and family for putting up with the toy freakz for the day, and to all the guys who were able to bring toys for trade or show, GetterBlakk for the trade tables, and everyone who supported the sales and Jumbo raffle for this sites upkeep. I will add some pics of my own, as well as some "Bots on the move" pix from the Florida trip! THANKS GUYS!

Just for a laugh, Myles brought so much trade and show bait, that he needed to steal the hotel's bellhop cart for the night, lol!
