^not yet, im still enjoying him on that bot mode together w/ his buddy Dino bozo! this is really a great xmas gift to myself. just creating the scene in TF movie 1986 where Hotrod aiming autobots' ship full of decepticons inside: HOTROD: Decepticons!!! i really like the head swap: Younger Hotrod: Older Rodimus prime: i like him as HOTROD, much cooler!

^well he doesnt want to be the leader at all, but its his destiny as the matrix said hehe!
Ultra Magnus has the potential to be a leader, but he always said "im just a soldier"...

Ultra Magnus maybe has no confidence that he can lead the autobots like optimus prime does...

Nice review Gold. One query : Is the Hasbro version's Rodimus leg as fragile as the Takara's one? When transforming does the spring coils out like the Takara version?

Thanks Tragichero, I can't say I had any problems with the Hasbro version. I wasn't being too careful and nothing broke. Unlike how I tiptoed around the legs with the Takara Tomy version 1 after reading about the QC problems with durability. Gold

Great pics gold!
The target master does attach in vehicle mode. There are two handles in gun mode, when swing in the right angle it will fit. It's a little fiddly and the angle is somewhat awkward but it works.

Yup, Hasbro's MP Rody is one sturdy toy, there's no sign of the ankle problem that plagued TakTom's 1st release. I even manhandled one of the elbow covers once while transforming it to car mode, and it's still ok, considering the size of that flimsy bit of plastic.

Came across this old thread from 2 years ago, about how to distinguish MP09 Rodimus Ver 2. from the first release. Thought I'd post it for reference in case anyone was curious... www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-toy-discussion/466702-any-way-identify-new-masterpiece-rodimus-prime-mp-09-v-2-0-outer-box.htmlThe boxes are identical in every way. Except the stamp on the underside of the box, if you can view it in person the original said A0911 (for January 09, 2011) and the 2nd version says H2511 (for August 25, 2011). Improvements 1. His leg panels won't break off if they come off. 2. His back panel attaches securely (perhaps even better than the Hasbro one) in robot mode. 3. No issues pegging his chest into place. 4. He holds his guns extremely securely. 5. His wrists are not loose and do not wobble about. 6. No issues with the ankles (that I can see). 7. His spoiler slides in easier when transforming to Rodimus Convoy vehicle mode (though you still may get some rubbing). 8. He has the Rodimus Convoy biceps rather than the new type that came with Rodimus Prime (though apparently this isn't the case for all of them). 9. His crotch plate is beveled to decrease the chance of hitting the ground in car mode. Other changes 1. His maroon paint in robot mode is very light compared to the original. 2. Orange plastic is a little lighter. 3. Yellow paint is slightly lighter. 4. Maroon paint on Rodimus Convoy cab portion is darker. 5. Biceps have a different sheen to them (perhaps they are made out of a different kind of plastic). Supposedly though, not all version 2s are fixed, some still have the occasional wobbly wrist.... Gold

Thanks Gold. It's definitely a very helpful tip to prevent collectors from getting the dreaded first release by accident. Although this probably won't be applicable when buying at online stores, at least it should work in conventions where potential buyer has a chance to see the toy's box first hand.
