I agree, this soc is one of the best ever made. He's big, heavy and feels really solid when combined. Also combining him is really simple without the fear of scratching the paint on some of the metal parts.

and his flaming sword is easily one of the best accessories to come with any soc. its so damned nice looking. bandai knocked it out the park with daltanious. hes a must-own.

i hope they remake daimos. the last mold looks weak to me. i was never impressed by it. i still wouldnt buy if ut was just a reissue.
i would jump on a reissue gx-50 in a heartbeat though.

So, just a straight-up re-release? No differences with the first take?

So, just a straight-up re-release? No differences with the first take? Seems like it. Was hoping there's a little difference, at least to the paint scheme, to justify the price increase. Put an order with HLJ for now. Surprised it was slightly cheaper than Amiami, and this time around, it wasn't an instant sell out like the first reissue. With HLJ, I get the option of no hassle cancellation in case I can find it cheaper. It's okay at $160ish price but EMS shipping is way to high on this piece pushing this to over $210 if I stick with HLJ. Might as well buy it from local retailer in the USA like toy source which prices it at $200 but with free shipping. So save about $10. Not sure if HLJ can offer a cheaper shipping option. Still thinking about the time back in 2011 when I was in LA Chinatown toy store and could of bought it at $170 tax free. Inflation? Cause originally, this SOC were being sold for at low as $150 shipped from retailers in its first release.

Don't need two even if it's always tempting as a completist, LOL. Yeah, inflation...and FWIW, the cost of metal has gone up. I also dabble in 1/18 cars and heaps of the manufacturers I used to collect (AutoArt, Kyosho) are now moving to resin versus diecast to curb the cost. Talk about nutbar.

Yikes, isn't resin kind of fragile? Yeah, then again, these 1/18 cars at their pricepoints aren't ever "toys"...I've already damaged a couple of my AutoArts (antennas) because I was not careful in the past.

If you want to laugh or cry. I was at Epcot in October. The Japan store had one on sale for just under $400. (It took a lot to explain to the wife that "no I don't pay that much for these things.")

Of the robots that are among the more perfect examples of Bandai engineering and design, that perfectly capture everything the classic robot fan looks for, I would list Daltanius, Gunbuster and Voltes V at or near the top. Simply wonderful.
