Thanks guys. REALLY clear upload. Awesome. I always liked playsets, and those pics sure make them look fun. Makes you want them on a shelf (sigh, shelf space, dear shelf space, where art thou? )
Weird, I don't remember at all that RockLords base, but man that looks cool!

That was freaking awesome! I just flooded with nostalgia at that catalog... So I think I will share some random memories:
Those command centers came out just as I was old enough to understand how to read diagrams and put stuff together... but not necessarily the functional details. I think I got Thruster put together right, but now that I think back, I always wondered if I got it right. For instance... was there another way to turn on the motion-detector while Thruster was in ship mode? The only way i could do it was to flip the switch, then quickly shut the door, thereby triggering the alarm and then I'd have to wait for the alarm to stop before I could continue playing with it. (And yes, there was a hole in the door so the motion detector could work even in ship mode).
My friends got into Rock Lords. I didn't. But I thought they were cool-looking. Now I think they're stupid. Whoever brought that idea to the table was a genius to realize it would actually sell to kids.
Yes, I remember literature showing those Rock Lords playsets too... Can't remember if it was the same catalog though. And no, I never actually saw one on store shelves.
Heh, Turbo was still being issued at the time of this catalog. I never had him... but I had Car Man. My local discount store (although, at the time I was too young to understand the concept of "discount stores" so that didn't matter) had Machine Men toys before Gobots came out. I thought it was funny that my friend who had an actual Gobot-branded Turbo figure didn't have the stickers I had (it seemed to me like a down-grade).

I was all about Gobots when I was a kid. Looking through this catalog was definitely a trip down memory lane (Although, one of my favorite transforming toys of all time never seems to get any love in the catalogs or Gobot toy listings, which is a pity because it was awesome).

Great book Lejam! I never tracked one down. How do you like it? This book rocks ! Inside, you got everything about gobots, rock lords, etc... It's my little bible about this toy line. I just came today from the librairy named JUNKU (in Paris, France) and there is 1 ex left. (in case of anyone from RJ forum living there want to get one) I remember those little robots, sold in a blister pack... I spent a lot of time in toy store when I was young, watching display. These robots where very famous in French due to the tv show. They were not expensive and the whole catalog was available. I still have a dozen of them and close to my SOC Bankaifu, I displayed the Monsterous combiner.

Nothing but Go-b... I mean, Machine Robo ;D love from me.
To anyone curious about the MR Wedge book, it is a must have if you're a fan. It has practically everything in it, including non-Japanese versions, such as Go-Bot repaints like black and green Cy-Kill, blue and white Leader-1, and many others. It's an absolutely AWESOME book.

One of these days I DO want to track down the book. International shipping, I think, is a killer. So if anyone sees a book for under $50 shipped, please let me know.

Can anyone repost a link to that gobots catalog.. I've recently been re bitten by the gobot/MR bug.
That book also looks awesome. I'm looking for some one the "double mr", that book may have me looking for other things I never knew existed as a kid.
