That's Daiojya (I've seen it spelled many different ways). I still don't have any of this bot in my collection. I've got to snap some pics tonight and get them up on this thread. Been away, and now that I'm home, I just need to find the time. Craziness abounds at home. BTW - Clover rocks! Having anything from this company is like finding a four-leaf one. Cool! Thanks kingboy, these bots are extremely hard to come by, especially in ebay these days.

MechaMecha, Myles got the name right on, but as he says, searching the name is a little goofy sometimes, as different boxes have it spelled different ways. Stupid phonetics I guess. =D Most of the toys wing stickers and box print say "DIOGIA" but it gets written a lot a "DAIOJYA" etc. Haha Noted and thanks Jon.

Mecha, I loved your trip report to HongKong toy stores recently!! Did you see ANY Clover stuff around at all? Or is it mostly Popy, and Takatoku vintage to be found?

Thanks Jon, the trip was great, unfortunately, i only managed to find a single store selling vintage stuff i might have seen the odd clover ST gundam or guncannon but thats it (condition not too good), most of them are loose items, but i saw the pretty rare ST combattra boxset if thats the right name to call it, it comes with everything like the DX version, but smaller in scale, but condition was pretty bad, so i decided to pass. I will definitly try to locate their vintage toys hub the next time i go there

Awesome, Erik! I think I like Clover so much because they made two of my favorite robot designs - Zanbot and Daitarn.

Awesome toys (and box art) guys.
You know, Clover is one Company I've never had the pleasure of owning a piece of. Will have to change that soon...

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice! Erik, have you ever transformed the toy? I'm going to try it out tonight and snap some pics. I've never seen any on the web, just the toy pristine in the box. I suspect everyone is afraid of transforming (i.e., playing with) their MIB toys. I think people would appreciate seeing that.

Bill: You NEED some Clover. Unfortunately the two coolest vehicles, which I know you love, are astronomically high in price. The White Base and the Core Fighter. Check our datafiles on TBDX for pics. Myles, I haven't even seen the actual toy in probably 7 years. It's just wrapped up and sitting on the shelf. I have never transformed it either. I'll have to bust it out and see what's doing.. Anyhoo... Here are some sh*tty shots of the Tryder G7 DX set. I was in a mad rush... I LOVE this box the best. You can't really see the toy as I put bubble wrap over it to avoid puncturing the cellophane box window.. Check out the cut away on the back:

Yeah, I watched the Corefighter go last week. I considered it, but then it went crazy high. As for the White Base, I think as long as Italian's are in this hobby, it will be well out of reach for me - at least in reasonable condition. I'll consider a DX Guntank, as those are a 'little' more reasonable. Hmm, bubble wrap inside the box to protect the celo, huh?! Now why didn't I think of that

The Guntank toy is real nice. Real nice. Here are some pics of the Gundam set, I tried to recreate all the modes from the box cover. Its interesting how it combines. The body parts fit into the spaceship in innovative ways. In this mode, the legs fit into the body of the spaceship, while the upper body fits into the nosecone. The head swings up into the transparent dome. The legs are a tight fit, and now you know why many of these have scratches along the ankles. This second mode keeps the legs in the ship, and just has the Core Fighter sticking out. The last mode takes the chest and nosecone to form a stout tank. In addition to the missile launchers on the black guns, the arms form missile launchers too. Obviously, the Gundam bot separates out so the Core Fighter can be used separately. This first shot is the infamous one on the cover of the set without the ship. Its also on the side of this set. Here's the Core Fighter alone: Here's a side by side comparison with the other Gundam toy of similar size. This combiner is much more stocky, and the thinner one does not separate. The thinner one shoots discs from its chest.

You guys are KILLIN' it! Erik, that Unrivaled Tryder DX, oh be still my widdle heart! I hope to gain that art cover box Gundam Super Combo box oneday. Myles, just wow. Sorry I'm slow to reply, but yeah, I did get to do the Gundam parts setup, but never got some shots. Just the one pic of it all put together in a cabinet shelf. Loved it. So glad you're getting the stuff out to play ,and try those combos caught on film with your set. I always thought the couple various DX sized Gundam toys were basically the same body, but now it's clear that maybe the arms, are the only common part. Diecast parts on the body, and head are all different. Love the disc shooty gimmick. I don't think that was in the cartoon.

What time is it? D'OH JA time! haha Here's the SD, and the Basic Fundamental Clover was kinda wacky with all their bots in so many very close sizes, but totally different toy. SD has more details molded in chest. Do NOT mess with Diogia Basic Fundamental's chrome blingity-bling. Even though his chest details are just a sticker.

Sweet!! I love the Daiojya stuff! I never got around to picking up the basic fundamental. Now I think I might. Thanks John..... I honestly HATE the combined look of my DX and my smaller combining version. Dont get me wrong, I LOVE the three DX robots on their own. Super chunky and aesthetically very very cool, but combined it looks like ugghhhh... Shi t. I love clover so much I've got a blow up doll....

Thank you so much for posting this Myles!! Man, I'm totally inspired now.. Pulling mine down right now!!! E Hey, unbox that Tryder instead! ;D Jon, great stuff. Daiojya has such a fanciful head crest. Much more complex than those on many of the other bots.
