This question was raised recently at Evageeks forums. Considering the current situation in Japan and the radiation levels, is it safe to import toys from there?
Do they check everything that goes out from there weather it's radiated or not? And what happens if it was? Do we say bye-bye to our orders?
Or what are the odds of a radiated package somehow slipped through the Japanese customs and got confiscated when they reach it's destination?
Are pre-ordered items that are supposed to be released months later going to be affected? Or does the situation affects what's made and released already?

I dont know if Japan even screens the stuff going out, but importing Countries may have their own rules on radiation and checking the levels on stuff coming in.
I know I just received a package on Monday without issues or delays. As for radiation levels, I suppose it's going to depend where the toy originated from in Japan.

Unless you're importing Japanese river water with the intent to drink it, I think you're plenty safe.

Many countries have started screening parcels coming from Japan. Check with your health ministry to find out if that's the case for your country as well.
Generally speaking, unless your parcels originate from the Fukushima region, you should not run any risk of radiation contamination at present.

Personally, I'm not worried about the radiation. I'm not sure if I've heard of any Gokin stores around Fukushima. Mostly keep my orders from HLJ, RTen, Hobby Search and Amiami. Those stores are located in the southern portions of Japan in or near Tokyo and Shizouka. YJA I'm sure gives you a location.
I think US customs is on top of the situation. HK is really cracking down on Japanese imports apparently. Play-Asia and Toy-wave are carefully screeing.
When in doubt, use your best judgement. If you're one who's concerned about radiation, perhaps waiting until the situation subsides is a better option.

If you're one who's concerned about radiation... And stop using that cell-phone, computer, TV, etc...

Hi guys, haven't read the whole thread but on my own experience, I received two parcels (one from hlj and one from anime-export) at work at then beginning of April and my colleagues were teasing me with the radiation, so we got a geiger counter (radiation meter) and checked. Parcels and robot boxes themselves show normal results (measured in micro-Sieverts). Pics attached. Attachments:

And more.

BTW the annual amount of natural radiation (World average) is 2.4 micro-Sieverts
