Somehow the ChoRyuJin & Big Volfogg seem to pale in comparison when standing besides GGG. They both have very big surfaces with no details at all, makes them look very plain. The sculpt and proportion is very nice and accurate, but it lacks surface details. Kind of on the fence on those two. On one hand, this is probably as good as it gets on those 2 guys, but wish that they were sculpted a more details. The plain blocky parts made them look like a very small scale PVC figure.
The more I look at the King J-Der in their show display, the more I want that thing. I wonder why all toy companies seem to avoid it like a plague, when it is actually a very prominant bot in the show, and darn powerful too. CM's could have made one in their Brave Gokin line when the GGG hype was there a few years back. It is even better if it is as big as Takara's with just little diecast. When Takara can make one that sells for 6000-8000yen back in 97, I don't see why company can't sell one just as big, fully transformable, better sculpted, with little diecast for 20000yen. King J-Der has a very fun and simple transformation. My Takara one is very fun to play (just take it out of my storage today), just the proportion and details are quite off in bot mode. The display looks like its the same size as the Takara one, which is about 16 inches tall. Really hope this one become a real thing, without the need to wait for another 5-10 years.

Those reviews cracked me up a little. While I totally understand your enthusiasm (I am a big GGG fan myself), trying to act out Guy's manly shouts in front of audiences is a very gutsy thing to do, but can be embarrassing at the same time. I do that (with extreme passion even), but only when I am alone with no one around posing toys, or when I am in my car driving or listening to GGG soundtracks, trying to keep myself from feeling sleepy. But never in front of an audience. Fun times. I hope when I get my hands on this GGG, I'll be as pumped as you guys. Have been too long since I am very satisfied with a GGG related purchase. So sad...

I think the Plasma Hold is generated from the Protect Shade / "Heaven" forearm. Isn't it "Hammer Connect"? Hey, so is, my bad, thanks for the headsup. Gold

Thanks guys for all the compliments and support on my review. Indeed, I am such a big fan that I can shout and scream like Guy. Totally love it and hope Bandai continues the high standard for the rest of the GGG robots!

Picked mine up from the post office today. Very nice, but a little loose on the hips. Must be because the weight of the diecast feet. Best GGG action figure I own, beating the CM's MAS and Yujin's big time! Now all I need to satisfy my GGG needs is the Space Parts for it AND an SRC GaoFighGar!!! ;D

That's probably the only robot anime "pilot shouting" I like best. I often shout Mazinger-Z stuff at work, but I get away with it because my kitchen staff are Maz fans too. ;D This GGG src is starting to win me over. Great review Opti, keep shouting! ---------------- off topic: now that the SRC threads are split into individual SRC robots HOW WILL WE KNOW which New SRCs and Weapons packs are Released at what time? Many of us are not familiar with ALL and every robot/mecha in existence, and many of us aren't totally following this toy line unless it's a robot character we really like or have anticipated the arrival of. Without an SRC "mother thread" we won't know what's New. Unlock the mother thread... announce a new SRC character... and theeeen dedicate a separate thread for it. zozo-mag

I agree with magengar. The SRC stuff seems like its all over the place now. It deserves its own thread or at least some kind of better organization.

Or perhaps, just start a thread with the new arrival of that particular new SRC robot character and then keep that character's thread for its own topics. Whenever we see a new SRC arrival we can catch it's thread as it is shown from the main page. Otherwise when visiting here, just browse the SOC Die-cast section of the thread titles to find the latest SRC arrival thread topic. Anything to help keep it organized. zozo-mag

Isn't Choryujin the same size as GGG plus I thought Big Volfogg was smaller than Choryujin?

Thanks, so really GGG and Choryujin should more or less be the same height at the top of there heads with only a 2-3m difference while Big Volfogg should be significantly smaller since he's roughly 2/3 the height of GGG.

I've always thought that Genesic GGG is the biggest (& tallest) of all the GGG mechs. Even in the CM's Brave Gokin line it towers slightly above the rest...

If you go by the "officially" listed heights from various source books, it's all messed up. GGGG is listed as being shorter, even though it makes no sense while looking at the design. This isn't exactly uncommon, either. Heights seem to be made up at random when it comes to specs in Super Robot Wars games.
