The new face looks meaner. I like the improvement when you take a look at their backside

Caption for this pic: "I'm a Mac!" "And I'm a PC!" That grey plastic screws things up compared to the proto : "Which one looks like a bootleg?" Nice face but this could have been awesome had they done a new design instead of the old preKawamori.

The new one is only marginally better. The first wasn't that great anyhow.

The new one is only marginally better. The first wasn't that great anyhow. I don't agree at all. The new one looks like a prototype and the the older like the finished product. For starters, the plastic of the MP-11 looks so cheap. And the panel lining is minimal, if any.

I am just referencing the retooling. The new new head/ legs/ tail fin is an improvement to me, but that is all. It does look plain like a prototype like you said. For the price, I would just get a 1st version Ghost of Star Scream figure which are still fairly plentiful and only around 110usd.

The whole thing is a way to make a cheap buck. No "Masterpiece" engineering, no "Masterpiece" paintjob. Really, what is "masterpiece" in this other than the price?
It's freaking 2012. Has Takara seen what Bandai and Yamato are doing? Have they seen what they themselves are making in their other TF lines? The transformation on the Masterpiede SS is now on level with that of a voyager or deluxe class transformers.
This should have been a completely new design.

Agreed, with the manufacturing power Takara has, you would think a high end toy would be, well, high end. Its probably something to do with profit margins. Like you mentioned, look at what Bandai and Yamato sells for the same amount of money. I expect my MP-11 in soon. I hope its not as bad as it looks in pics

Dear Takara: Where is my masterpiece money going if I buy this release? It can't be paying for tooling, most of which was done and paid for half a decade ago. It can't be paying for accessories, all of which are fairly basic and paltry. It can't be paying for materials because it looks like you used cheap, goopy dollar store plastic. It can't be paying for a detailed paintjob because, well, there isn't one.
So tell me, Takara, where is my money going and why should I pay a Masterpiece price for a Hasbro-grade toy? Actually, that's somewhat of an insult to Hasbro because they've released toys that have a far more detailed and rich finish than this thing.
Maybe that's it. Maybe the world is going all goofy and it'll be the $60 US Hasbro release of MP11 that gets the snazzy finish.

I ordered one but MP-11 will remain in robot mode and as I have the other MP seekers in jet mode.
