I ended up caving and giving in on my "no exclusive purchases" stance. Oh well. Out of the box, my VF-4'G's right shoulder is crazy loose. Other than that, not bad. It doesn't seem quite as nicely designed as the VF-19, but it's mostly solid and very pretty in fighter mode.

nice haul for 2013!!! i know Macross Valkyries use other existing fighter planes for their Mech Design ....like VF from F14 Tomcat as reference..... Im wondering if where did they get VF-4 from???

Hm. In general with the thin profile and broad delta wing look of the valkyrie it reminds me quite a lot of the Eurofighter Typhoon. The double engines obviously make it pretty different (and give it a twin fin look vs. the Eurofighter's single dorsal fin), but that's what I see when I look at it

the more i look into it.....and googling about it....it seems to me that it looks a bit like the Sukhoi...but with the "twist" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sukhoi_Su-30MKIbtw how big is the VF-4 compared to other Yamato valks? 1/48, 1/60's

It's a bit bigger than a 1/60 VF-1A. Smaller than a 1/60 VF-19. It's ... you know. Normal size? I guess?

It actually reminds me if a modern day version of the P-38 Lightening.

For sure I could see that. It fits with the twin engine and central body look (and with the VF-4's name, the Lightning III). I could see it being a future-interpretation of the original P-38's design

Really nice pics moleman! Yeah, the missiles frustrated me as well. At most every step of the transformation, a few would pop off and I'd have to check where it popped off from. I think I would have preferred that they did not not come off at all.

Didn't realize how fast the price on this thing shot up. It's only been 3 months since this thing was released. Have you tried Ekizo Mandarake or perhaps Yahoo Japan Auctions?

Wow. And evilbay's the same. I'm assuming that its also because this was the last offering of Yamato before they went under and that this is supposed to a grail piece. Have you tried putting a WTB in the MW forums?

I'm glad I think the Vf-4 is ugly as sin and never wanted one

I only like the fighter mode. I'm just happy that we finally have a transformable one besides the Studio Half Eye kit that I'd probably screw up putting together.
