No, no... these are the Prototypes for the GX-01 released back in 1997. bandai decided to screw up on that one too and selected the now famous "hinged door" Mazinger design for the first SOC ever made. }D Ok but above them are the actual Gx-01s that came out correct? They just showed these as what lead up to Gx-01 Im guessing it looks like the final scrander in the upper right, hard to see but you can just make out the lumpy part on the scrander wing.. Anyhow Im getting this SRC I really liek the bat wings. The one thing I do not like is that smashed pumpkin looking Garada head, how sloppy.

Yes. These prototypes are kept at the Bandai Museum, along with all the other SOCs that followed. }D

I think that weird smashed Garada head is just an accessory, an extra Mazinger hand... showing a defeated Garada-K7. In that case, and I'm only wishing, that an SRC Garada-K7 would be made..... a sane healthy Garada-K7; and then a battle-damaged version that has a broken neck, so as to match with this weird smashed head. Then that would link the SRC Shin Mazinger to an SRC Garada as a double-pack release. The lumpy Scrander wing version appeared in the GX-01 and 01R SOCs. However, I like the Scrander wing set from the GX-45, as it doesn't have the funky "tumors" but a smooth complete set of wings. I'd rather remove and invert the wings for the mach-speed pose, than to sweep a pair of mechanical lumpy wings back-n-forth. zozo-mag

Yes the Gx-45 scrander wings are great too,but do not fit the GX-01/R/R+ models.Im saying since those are the basic Mazingers they should not have those toy gimmick wings, they suck.

I hear ya there about the wings. I guess at the time when the first two Mazinger SOCs were finalized Bandai didn't think of any slick way to make the wings mimick their flight modes other than installing the weird mechanical joints to sweep them front and back. I'm at home playin around with the GX-45's Scrander AND my Mechacolle Maz model's Scrander, imagining what I could come up with by borrowing the engineering style from both Scranders to repro a cool Scrander set I'd like.
Moving along, discussing the SRC Shin Maz... I hope Bandai doesn't go overboard by creating a massive Weapons pack for this particular Mazinger figure. Shin Mazinger didn't have as many weapons as the original Mazinger-Z had; not even the stomach Rocket Punch.
......for sh*ts-n-giggles: I predict Bandai will make a weird Weapons Pack for Shin Mazinger......... ......a thousand tiny little black Rocket Punchies; and a cast-iron bowl for you to drop them on from mid-air, to simulate the Rocket Punch "Rain". .....clink! .......clink-clink...... ......clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink...... ;D

I'm disappointed that it does not transform to a fist. I was planning to sell my SOC and get this one instead until I knew it doesn't transform. Bummer.

SchwEEt mother of Goodness, Chen, thanks for posting that pic, now we can see those three Mazingers together how they'd look on a collector's shelf. --- Yes, BW, the wings do switch around since they come out of/attach into the slots of the Scrander body. I really like the design of the GX-45's Jet Scrander. You're right about that, if Bandai had done that for the GX-01 it would have saved them a lot of money from having to make the parts inside the mechanical lumps. They only did it that way to simulate the sweeping action of the wings the way they were animated in the original MZ anime series. In case anyone asks why, watch the series... the wings sweep back to alleviate rough drag as Mazinger reaches mach speed while in flight. zozo-mag

i still dont like the way the god scrander looks with shin mazinger. they tried to make it look like the shin getter devil wings, and really made a mess of things by then making it convert into a giant flying fist!!!! they made the soc shin mazinger an x-rated sex toy!!!! i decided not to get the src shin mazinger anyway and already sold my gx49 shin mazinger a long time ago. just never got to like the morphing shin mazinger idea.

I've just got mine today and after a while playing and posing it , i think this mazinger is not as poseable as I wish it should.. Even the original SRC Mazinger Z got more pose ability than he is. The arm, leg, waist, hand and shoulder joints were all great except for the thigh joint, the one that connected to the hip. Kinda like GX49 only moves a bit further more Attachments:
