well about 9 years later i finally managed to get Getter Liger as well
i cant believe we dont have a dedicated thread for it, so my bad for posting it here, i really dont see any point of creating a new thread for a 9 years old figure
but hey better later than never, what i like about Fewture stuff is you get what you paid for, NO BS, NO SHORT CUTS, NO EXCUSES,
decent sizes, ton of diecast and jaw dropping ageless designs, it totally worth every penny
cant wait to start taken pictures and hopefully i will try to find Poseidon the last piece i need to complete the trio

Congratulations on finding it. The G trio were a huge step up over the original Getter trio. And I don't think you'll be disappointed in Poseidon at all. I bought it a very long time after buying Dragon and Liger, and after having it in hand I couldn't believe I was actually considering fully skipping it.

thank you brother
i agree with you, but to be fair the first Getters were early products so of course they will have some issues, the G trio fixed everything that was annoying in the first trio (like you said)
it wont be an easy or a cheap hunt for Poseidon, i really want to see those cool treadmills feets so bad lol, but you will NEVER go wrong with an EX Gokin product they WORTH the asking price
and thats my main point, there is two types of collectables, the ones that WORTH the asking price even years later when the price is x2.5 more, and the ones that doesn't worth it even with the preorder discount

thank so much bro, its an amazing feeling (for me not for my wallet lol) those three were the last 3 figures i need for my collection
and yes those are made of plastic oddly however they are still going strong, i changed them maybe twice no plans on changing them again, i kept the normal feet on they figure was much sturdy with them on

My "Toy Curse" lives on! Just opened my Fewture Getter Dragon after its long slumber in my storage for more than 8 years, after seeing S_Gokin's posts and figured my CCSToys Black Shin can use some buddies. With a lot of excitement, BAAAAMM!!! A broken left shoulder rod. Its the ball joint rod that connects the red shoulder pad to the arm, broke off right below the ball inside the box without ever being touched. Gotta love it. Attempted to super glue the rod, with an extra piece of plastic on the side as reinforcement. But still breaks off on the first try moving the shoulder pad. The bond is just not strong enough and the rod is just too thin. Last resort, using the "super glue + baking soda" trick I learned from Youtube, while sacrificing the balljoint articulation to let the 'tumor' to have more strength and buildup. It worked! Still sucks to keep getting/fixing broken toys, and Dragon losing a shoulder pad balljoint in the process, but at least I feel a little better with it not being out right broken (was thinking of just putting it back in the box and never bother with it again...yet it was too cool of a figure to just let it rot another 8 years in darkness). If you ever need to fix a toy, or doing some handy work that normal super glue is not strong enough to do the job, adding Baking Soda may be the miraculous solution that you may have never thought of.

I need to fix one of the clips on my car light.... this should give it the strength it needs...

Shoulder super glue tumor aside, this Fewture Getter Dragon is badass. Not only does the sculpt aged well, it can be very dynamic with a lot of three dimensional shapes all over that makes it look even more impressive in person than in photos. Some nice clicky joints, and love it on the ankle pivots. The biceps, though an iconic take of Sato's Getters redesign and narrow exposed elbow joints are the parts that I can nitpick with, and I wish the Spin Cutters on the lower arms actually rotates instead of static. But overall, a really great piece. Though as good looking as this is, it still has some flaws. Hip joints and especially thigh swivels can be tighter, especially on a figure with this much heft on the legs. Legs tend to swing around a bit due to its weight, with the hip and thigh joints not tight enough to sustain the weight, but it is sturdy enough for posing and standing. The shoulder pad rod could have been thicker, otherwise I wouldn't have to fix a brand new figure to begin with. Mine also came with a bunch of paint flaws, with some chips and blemishes, uneven panel lines, even a section of the red chest door is missing the clearcoat (matte, when they all suppose to be shiny). I suppose that's just continuing the Fewture tradition. Still very glad I bought this long ago, flaws and all, and still one of my favorite stylized Getter Dragon rendition.

man you gave me a heart attack, i saw the thread name and i thought Fewture did a reissue for the G trio LOL
sorry to see that man, i always tell my friends to do a quick unboxing to check on things just to be safe then you can store it for ages no issues
i highly agree with you this figure didnt only aged well, but it still the BEST Getter Dragon money can buy the size, the sculpt, the quality of materials, the bad a$$ery and the accessories no figure could even come close to this figure realm my favoirte part is when i placed it next to Getter 1 you can see how far Fewture went and how the try to solve most of the early issues, speaking of issues yes there is some QC (mine doesnt have any thank god) but you just forgive it for them for the simple fact that it does deliver more than it takes, the figure gives so much value to any collection its just up their with the top, in the hall of fame

I suppose comparing this Dragon with say the CCSToys Black Shin Getter or some of the better Riobot stuff, the most obvious difference to me is the density and sharpness of small details not being as refined, say looking at the head (but awesome sculpt regardless), the hands, and even the pretty rubbery PVC neck, all with details a bit on the dull size (CCSToys' Zero has much sharper head details than Fewture Mazinger Z e.g. even though their heads look very similar). It is mostly on execution from 8-9 years ago, and not the fault of the actual design or sculpt. While Riobot is really good at blending joints and articulations into the body in the most natural way, this Dragon can look a bit awkward when certain joints or limbs are fully extended. But these are really nitpicks you really have to look for, and something you can hide very well if you know the strength of the figure and know how to pose it well. Borrowing a couple photos from CollectionDX to illustrate the possible awkward joints design: Yeah, really loving this Dragon, and will likely get to Liger and Poseidon some time soon. Hopefully no more 'surprises' from those two.

trust me every figure joints could look awkward if the photographer or the reviewer want them to be
as for the rest of the trio
Liger have no huge issues but i saw some reviews were the legs joints could get very loose and another issues with the leg but i forgot what it was sorry lol
for Poseidon 1 main QC with most of the units the chest part where you unveil the missiles one of them usually the right one is slightly taller so it doesn't perfectly close up
still i dont regrets getting them and im very happy with them

for me i really love all of the EX Gokin stuff they are big and proud diecast beats
i got the G trio in 2022 9 years after the release always wanted them but the price was crazy + i had other things to get, they were always a must get for me, its was just a matter of time and priorities and money lol
for Energer its the same as Mazinger and Great just tiny changes here and there (one of the early EX Gokin) so there is some shorts but hey the figure make up for those
Raideen is legit alot i heard nothing but good things about it, also it was one of the latest EX Gokin
lets enjoy the trio

...Man this guy probably one off my Favorites form Ex-Gokin line side note is it worth Getting the Raideen and the Energer Z at this point ? I can only tell you from my experience on Mazinger Z. It is good, but not that good. Pretty much like a lower grade and feel of Dragon, with looser joints, more primitive articulation, and the same kind of paintjob and awkward poses issues. To me, especially when aftermarket price soaring, I would not bother to acquire it at this point. I got more satisfaction from CCSToys Zero than Fewture Maz. But it may hit others differently, if you love the design, feel nostalgic of the toyline or toy history of the piece, and don't mind the physical short comings of the actual toy. I don't have any experience on Raideen. They sure up the detail density on that one, but not Raideen enough for me.

Ex-Gokin line side note is it worth Getting the Raideen and the Energer Z at this point ? Raideen is a beautiful piece, the colors and details are very striking. However like mpchi said it does veer far from the base design of Raideen, so depending on how attached you are to the anime it might not fit your taste. While also being detailed, I believe the Riobot version did a better job of what this was trying to do. Another thing to keep in mind is that it does not have as much(if any at all) die-cast as other EX Gokin figures, likely due to the God Bird mode transformation. However, because it is lighter it has a much easier time pulling off more elaborate poses, and articulation is generally better than any other EX Gokin figure I own.
