It seems like Studio HalfEye is in the process of coming up with a new project and it will be Perfect Change Gurren Lagann! tendoutoys.blogspot.hk/2012/09/studio-halfeye-next-to-be-perfect.htmlNo pictures and details as of yet; and it doesn't look like they are in the prototype stage. But they are going to do blueprints for the designs soon. If the project comes to light soon, this will be the first ever changeable Gurren Lagann with a hefty price tag.

I have no SHE figures so I am not sure how I feel about this one. Are they good?

They aren't really "figures" in the sense that they're playable toys made in mass production. They're hand-assembled (and in the case of this new project, not even that, it'll be a do-it-yourself kit) resin kits. Fragile, fiddly, awkward looking, often difficult to pose or maneuver without the steadiest of hands. What they DO do is exhibit fantastic creativity and engineering by showcasing inconceivable (or at the very least, improbable) transformations, usually at the expense of the appearance of one or both modes. I've got two completed figs (Gunbuster and Godannar) and two kits (Escaflowne and GaoFighGar) and while I wouldn't trade them away for anything, they're not what I'd go to when I wanted to transform something just for fun.

I always considered studio halfeye figures as kind of the Ferrari of toys collectibles. Owning one is more of a bragging right. I mean, try and find a Godannar. Even if can pony up the money to buy one, you can hardly find one on eBay of any of the auction site. I mean unlike expensive chogokin like the Gx-01rb, while it may cost a lot, you see listing for it. But a lot of the studio halfeye stuff, especially with popular ones line Godannar and the shulawga, there are so few of them around that it becomes a challenge to find one.
Another thing to consider is this, these figure are essentially resin model kits. Think how expensive a b-club Gundam model kit cost. Because they are resin cast, the molds can't be reuse that many times so thy have to constantly remake the mold to produce more. Thus the higher cost of producing these. And finally, these are completed resin model figures, kinda like commissioning a professional model builder to build you a figure. This is why these figure cost so much money. And all of this aside, they pack a lot of precision engineering into the design.
