Encore Fortress Maximus up for pre-order at BBTS...
$399.99 if you want the March 2013 shipment coming by air. or $349.99 if you want the April 2013 shipment coming by boat.
I'm not going to bother with a link, the items are up on both the BBTS Home Page and Preorders page...
They are quoting an estimate of roughly $21 additional to ship one to me UPS Ground (I am on the East Coast). I ordered one of the early ones.
You have to pay with credit card only, but they don't charge you until the item is in stock at their warehouse. You can cancel anytime as long as BBTS has not received them.
It is rumored to be in the Japanese style Fort Max Box and will come with all parts including the Master Sword. Rumor is that E-Hobby will be doing a Grand Max recolor as well probably coming out right after this one.

I was about to quit all non Masterpiece transformers but this one is hard to resist. Wife won't be happy about the space that it will take up.

Just tell her it's only $400 for a Fort or Grand Max and it won't break because it's new...not 2-4k for a used MIB vintage one. That should buy you some brownie points!

Haha I wish she gives a dime about fort max or ford min. Nevertheless I'm super excited about this release as it was a childhood dream. This and the tetsujin 28 godaikin.

Man, that's pricey! I hope that's a bit of sarcasm because it is really an amazing deal. Japanese spec and brand spanking new. You can't get much better than that. :-)

Meh for 400 bucks id rather not. Im a huge TF fan but never really cared for this figure at all. Horrid looking imo. Maybe some 3rd party updated version would be cool....

It's 350 and it's cheaper than I had expected. Considering the constructions are 120 and only 8", this two feet giant is priced reasonably.
I have always wanted a robot base and this one fits the bills. Now to look for little ones that will scale well.

I hope it will come with the Master Sword. Rumors are pretty positive that it will because this is based off the Japanese version.

Right! I agree, no chromes on this one, maybe painted on "stickers" but not chrome.
For 350, I would gladly get one (Even Grand Max).
Ebay Prices for Boxed Fortmax are what, $2000 +??

Right! I agree, no chromes on this one, maybe painted on "stickers" but not chrome. I doubt it will have chrome. I don't think they would be that stupid. I am hoping for a sticker sheet though. I literally want to spend 8 hours placing each sticker myself, absolutely perfectly.

You can't get much better than that. :-) I have no attachment to this toy at all. So I am looking at it with pure "love for robots" point of view. Is it really worth $400 just because the vintage one is $2000 right now? This is all plastic, right?

So I am looking at it with pure "love for robots" point of view. Is it really worth $400 just because the vintage one is $2000 right now? This is all plastic, right? It should be plastic and still have the diecast center. I understand your feelings and I am glad you like the figure. But look at it this way - even if vintage US fort max was still 800-1200 MIB for a superbly mint one, this would still be a deal. Basically brand new toy, master sword and better box art to boot. Even though I spent the extra $50 to get early delivery (which I never do) those of you that drop $350 and roughly $20 on shipping are getting an insane deal. I expect the retail price of this toy to be higher once its out, and the secondary market will eventually jump as well (i.e. brave max prices the last few years and recently). For anyone that is thinking about ordering one, pull the trigger, you don't have to pay for it for six months, either get rid of some junk or just budget for it. It is a steal. I am actually thinking of cancelling my preorder and re-ordering two to make sure I get a real mint box. Then I'll just keep the second one as trade fodder or let it go @ what I paid for it here.

That's great news, I just wish these weren't straight re-issues. It would ve nice if Takara added more paint aps or re-designed faces or something, anything to distinguish it from the originals and show how 25+ years of manufactoring improvements.
