What robot gets your blood pumping at this time. What do you REALLY enjoy, hunt, relish, want to purchase?
Where is your current passion in the hobby?

My answers: #1: It's a tie between Mazinger-Z and Yuusha Raideen, because they've impressed me very much in their own unique ways and I've been after those two since kidhood. #2: I really Really REALLY enjoy Mazinger specimens from any toy line that grabs my attention, especially the classic '90s Mazinger toys and model kits by Banpresto. I also cannot say enough about the Mechacollection super-robot model kits and the SOC Mazingers (Mz 01R, and GM 02R)... ...combined, those two distinct toy lines glued my heart to this hobby as the standout specimens. There are other Mazinger lines I like, but these two are my main sh*t-stains. #3: My current passion in this hobby still burns as ever since I joined RJ almost six years ago. I just wish my budget were on par with my passion. Back then I had new hauls in the mail every couple weeks when I worked a good-paying job. These days the least I can do is Drool-n-Dream whenever I see any new specimens and toy lines. If it weren't for this hobby I wouldn't have the passion. Thanks for posting this questionaire. Every now-n-then I need the refresher and moments like this to reflect on this hobby. zozo-mag #1)What robot gets your blood pumping at this time.

1) Love my SOC Godsigma, as a kid a popy Godsigma was my first robot toy so it brings back lots of memories. Daltanious was a very nice surprise, picked him up at Anime Expo on a whim, and because I thought he looked cool in the Bluefin booth. Lately though I have been collecting Macross talks... VF-1s and VF-25s. It's been really fun setting them up in cool poses with different armor and fast packs. I have a few pre orders that I can't wait to receive... Masterpeice Soundwave, DX Mazinger Z, and a ton more fast packs for Macross items.
2) Lately I have been going back and trying to find some of the original Popy figures I wanted as a kid. I recently completed the Gaiking/Bazoler/Nessar/Skylar set I always wanted. Now I want to find a mint Godsigma, Daiku Maryu, Danguard A, and Grendizer. I'd love to get that Yamato SDF-1 from DYRL. The new Bandai SOC Star Wars Droids look amazing, but I probably can't afford them right now. The Transformers (Binaltech, Altenator, not sure) 370Z in purple (Shockwave or Galvatron, not sure) is of interest to me, but I am sure will not be worth the ridiculous price tag.
3) Same as always, I like having pretty things to decorate my space. Most people I guess think of paintings as fine art, I see a sculpted die cast robot or action figure as the pinnacle of fine art. I still love watching the shows... Yamato 2199, Macross Frontier, Legend of Daiku Maryu, Shin Mazinger, Lupin the 3rd as they make them. It's always fun meeting other robot geeks and exchanging stories too. Come out and hang at Robo Toy Fest or Macross World this year!
Addition to #3... I can't get enough chogokin Tattoos. Working on a Yamato Analyzer and Daiku Maryu next I think.

The one vintage piece I would really like to pick up would be the vintage Cyborg 009 Dophin 2 "DX". The one that still says ST on the side, but it's the bigger one you hardly ever see.

I seem to be stuck in Transformer mode. I appreciate the look of G1 stuff and it seems like third party is the way to go until some of the Masterpieces come out at the end of this year/beginning of next.
My blood really gets pumping when I take a moment to check out my diecast stuff. Nothing beats that by a long shot. Loving my new bots from the auction!

Most of the SOC & some of the Cms ( Combiners & Big Robots ) really excites me although quite often I don't really know the robots initially. ( Dancouga , Zambot 3 , Gunbuster , Ideon , SRW , Daltanious , God Sigma , Daioja , Baldios Star Gaogaigar ....etc ). I am impressed by the engineering skills SOC & Cms which is why I choose to collect them instead of the G1 Transformers. They are animate accurate & comes with lots of accessories unlike most of the Transformer G1 toys. I really hope SOC & Cms will continue to make all the Super Robots.

As far as the fun part of the hobby goes, I love discovering things I had never known about before and then have my expectations exceeded when I pick them up. The combining Ultraman Nexus machines come to mind, and same goes for the Gun Phoenix Striker. More recently I picked up the Justirisers DX set with the Genseishin Nin Riser add on and it turned out to be awesome.

Godaikins! Thats why I tried to buy Eds haha. But the 3 gems I do not have, and will be the find of my hobby is of course complete Tetsujin-28, Combattra, and Voltes V. Out of the 3 I really want the Combattra. It was actually the Godaikin that haunted my thoughts as a kid and I could never afford it. It came with so much stuff and had so many playable options. I thought it was the coolest next to Daltanias and Golion. Voltes V is way cool two, but I always felt it was just a remake of Combattra. And really it was. Don't get me wrong, I still want Voltes V too (my SOC GX-31 is very cool), but Combattra is my personal Elenor or Holy Grail. Now as an adult, I have the same issue as they are even harder to find, and I can't afford them at the price a single one goes for these days. The cool thing is the SOC Combattler version, especially the GX-03. It has given me the chance to kinda own my Elenor robot without the high price. But it still isn't the same as owning and playing with the actual Godaikin or Shogun Warrior Combattra. Now for Ed, I have to admit, buying your mint old stcok Daltanias is also a dream come true. I was 8 when I opened my first Daltanias after saving 8 months of my allowance to buy it. It was later stolen. I did have a pretty nice one that I recently sold to acquire yours. Others may scream at me, but I can't wait to actually open one again for the first time. Of course this time it coming from your collection and me waiting for an opportunity to own a mint/new one will give me back 8 years old for the moments I get to sit with it and open it carefully as an adult. That feeling is something that will last the rest of my life again. The cool thing is you helped make it possible. So I feel massive gratitude towards you without ever meeting you or you having to do much. Thank you for giving me another moment of being 8.

Defenitely Mekanda Technical Gasshin both blue and black shoulders. Great great hunt which encompassed years of watching YJ almost every other day
The others would be Daibaron half DX and Combattler Combine in Box in MIB and complete condition.

Without changing the characters' design, I love new and improved versions of the original 1972 anime Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger, Grendizer, all Getters, and of course Mazinkaiser. Also welcome new and improved versions of GaoFighGar. Of course, releases of their enemy mechas really make my day! ;D

I love everything in my collection obviously some more then others. But right now I'm on the hunt for the Hasbro MP Prime for something that's not suppose to be limited and in a major toy store I have yet to see signs of it at the nearest TRU.

I have few in my wish list ranging from previous releases that I haven't got. Daitarn 3 and Daltanious, 2 of a few. Not that they are hard to find, it's just that I'm a persistent bargain hunter.

For a while I was enamored by modern gokins from SOC lines and other makers like CM'S, Aoshima and Yamato but in recent times I've gone back to my roots, it's the charm of the vintage that I find irresistible. I've already sold off a majority of my modern gokins. I will still get a modern chogo if it appeals to me but I will be less trigger happy and selective in my choices. Nothing in particular on my radar now, I am still debating whether to po the CM'S Boss Plader or just hold on for something vintage to pop up in Ebay or Yahoo Japan.

I am getting charged up about making a custom or two... I've got some ideas, but expect the first generation of work (by me) to be crude.

I don't know which is the better half of this hobby: Collecting the authentic specimens, or making custom renditions. ;D
