I have Yamato version. If only this SOC Danguard Ace is as tall as Combattler, I would have bought one already.

Any of you received your Danguard Ace from BBTS? Why anyone orders new toys from BBTS is beyond me.Its the same price to get them early from a Japanese dealer, are some of you BBTS customers too intimidatd to order overseas,is that it? Because BBTS humps up the price which BTW does not equal out in shipping BBTS.... is STILL more $$$$.The only time I order from them is to get a second of a toy that I own way after the fact.

For stuff like the Tamashii Exclusives of figures licensed here in the US (DX Mazinger for example), BBTS can be the cheapest place to shop. However, there is a 99% chance that the buyer will have to wait an extra month or so before they receive their stuff. The only time BBTS had something as fast as the Asian retailers was when I purchased the Fewture Shin Getter from them. They got their stock super fast! }D

Bbts used to be a good place to pick up old release SOC. They kept records of all my purchases and I was able to pull up a invoice from 2006. I paid $83.88 for the GX-02r/GX-12 two pack, and that's with shipping included. The last SoC that I purchased from them was on 6/11/07, for a Gx-05R and I paid 87$ shipped. BBTS used to have great deal and placed their chogokin on clearance sale. Currently, they did put the reissue fewture black Getter on clearance. I don know how much of a discount they are placing on that one. For certain items, I will purchase from BBTS but not for new import items from Japan.
I got my Danguard A from amiami and paid 10610 yen. Not sure what my exchange rate was at the time. Probably was at $110 shipped. It's $20 less than at bbts price and that before shipping.

I still have Metal Composite Banshee and HT Diecast Iron Patriot with BBTS. BBTS does charge quite a bit more for on many gokins. But On certain stuff, after comparing to AmiAmi and it's shipping, the cost differnce becomes even narrower when considering BBTS' "Pile of Loot."
AmiAmi sells stuff out so quickly. BBTS and Amazon fill that need when I need to buy the sold out item. I do get hit anywhere from $10 to $20 per, but not bad considering the alternative.

True GGG BUT amiAmi always seems to restock as soon as its out of stock! But dont count on getting the same toy say a month after its first released. That is the issue with BBTS all that backstock,AmiAmi wont have that as they only sell what is preodered usually, smart!

Great review Gold. totally going to pickup the SOC version. it maybe smaller than Yamato. but Man does the SOC has some great details. And the proportions look stunning! Plus it's within my price range. I think that's the one SOC I've been waiting for. And then I'll be Super robot content.Unless I can I reason with myself with $1200 to get those Fewture Getter Robo G. (oh man those look great! too.

I received my SOC Danguard Ace yesterday from Anime Island. I wanted to buy from Ami Ami, but so much goes out of stock there so fast that I've practically given up. I had to be quite patient with Anime Island, but I've found them dependable in terms of eventually delivering the goods. The Danguard Ace box arrived in terrific condition -- Anime Island protected the SOC box better than the GFFMC Unicorn Gundam I ordered from them earlier in the year.
As far as the SOC itself, I'm pleased with it. I actually like the smaller size (I think that my Daltanious is actually too big with a box that's way oversized; I have to think more about storage space these days). There's a nice heft to Danguard, and the articulation is impressive. Great fit and finish on mine. Beautiful paint job. I'm amazed at the engineering improvements over time that have worked their way into SOC's especially in terms of articulation. I still have some Popy toys from when I was a kid, and they're total bricks in comparison. The transformation's fun except for the attachment of the torso to the thighs using the clips -- very tight fit and so hard to attach and remove. The inclusion of the Sky Arrow and the landing gear for the helmet craft are nice touches.

So I got mine from from BBTS which I shouldve done in the first place to avoid the headaches I went through. After losing out with amiami and HLJ, I preordered from Nippon-Yasan because the price was excellent compared to everywhere else. Then I realized everyone was getting their Danguards except me. When I checked my NY account, it turns out payment was due July 27th. I had no clue because I am used to getting an in-stock notification which I didnt. Apparently, I get every damn email they send except the important ones.
So I paid after the date, order did not show cancelled. I waited... and waited...and waited...no shippign notification. Then I emailed them. All of a sudden I got email saying order being processed (yay). Then I get another email saying it was cancelled (boo). So I emailed them and their response was that it was cancelled (They said its my responsibility to keep track of release date). OK fine I get it I paid late. But why would you keep my money all that time until I email you, then you cancel it instead of shipping it out (it was IN STOCK by the way, not sold out.)It was also my first time dealign with them, so I may not know their process-Absolutely no leeway. If they cancelled it on the last day payment was due fine, but they cancelled it AFTER receiving my payment..
So then I waited and waited for refund. Emailed them, nothing. Had to file claim with Paypal, then they promptly refunded. So they kept my money one friggin month. How long were they planning to wait?
So long story short, ordered from BBTS, they sent me a case fresh box wrapped in plastic and a custom made outer box. I opened it, turns out it has factory paint defect on leg. They will do an exchange no problem. I end up paying more but I cant imagine trying to get an exchange from amiami or nippon yasan. Amiami because they never have replacements and/or offer no help outside Japan and Nippon because they sit on their stuff until you email em so I cant imaging doing an exchange with them. No thanks
So back to topic, I love this figure, its small but it works with this figure. I have the Yamato but it seems too clumsy due to its size, The SOC seems just right even though its smaller than I expected. Feels great in my hands. Other than the paint defect which is a chip they obviously tried to touch up it looks like and smudged it a bit, its perfect.

Sorry to hear about your issues with NY, chachipower ... I ordered from them for 2 Danguard A and am quite happy with their service. Granted you have to pay about 1 week before they have it in stock, but shipping and packaging was pretty good...
