Weird. I purchased mine many years ago and it was the "no-Knife" version. I wonder what the difference really is on this 3rd version... }D

For a static diecast ship, this is a very nice one. I too have purchase the no-knife version years ago. Very nice and heavy, with light up cabin & turning turrets. The mechanism for the turning turrets gimmick is a bit on the flimspy side (doesn't work perfectly, but not faulty either). You can feel the fit & finish is not Bandai. But since it is a static piece, it is much more forgiving, and the ship looks beautiful (especially the weathered version). It is 12.75" long not counting the flag at the tail. It is HEAVY...
The only differences I can tell from the pics and mine is that, my dome doesn't glow (its fully painted in green instead of transparent plastic), and the skinny belly fin has a red tip, mine is just green.

Really, the dome on yours is not clear? Did you check out the pics in the link I posted? It is supposed to be lit.

Yeah, mine is painted green just like the body. There is light seeping through the seams, as the light bulb is sitting right underneath, but my version has no clear dome. Mine might be the 2nd no-knife version, but can't really remember how many versions Aoshima had released. Its been a while.
