Is this supposed to represenmt the G1 Blaster? If so, it sure doesn't look like him. Im pretty sure that Soundblaster is supposed to be a combination of parts from Soundwave and Blaster after they were both destroyed. The original toy was just a 2 deck remake of sound wave though.

I think a blaster version would be cool as well. I think I will stick with my ipod though.

I'm not sure about Soundblaster getting parts from Blaster but Blaster was later rebuilt into Twincast after Soundwave and Blaster punched holes through each other in the Japanese TF Headmasters cartoon. Laserbeak just ran off with only Soundwave's head after his body blew up and Blaster's body just became colorless, kinda like when Prime died only white. Gold

Nice review Gold! Love those comparison pics. Those are the most helpful, imo.
The Reprolabels custom stickers look outstanding!!! Now it should be easy for them to reconfig the colors for Soundblaster. Man, I want those so badly. heheheh

As a figure it LOOKS great and I am very tempted, however its just too dear for a deluxe class figure with a pretty poor biult-in MP3 player. It would have been nice if they had released two versions one with the MP3 player and a cheaper model without, possible with an updated Lazerbeak or Ravage or both. Also for that price I'd expect Rumble and Frenzy thrown in not as additional extras at extra cost, as it stand he's just not worth the money.

Finally broke down and bought one (blue version), when I wasn't planning to at first. Just got a Mini SD card during lunch and testing the sucker. Its really TRIPPY! Listening songs from a Transformer LOL. The MP3 player is not good. Very limited to the bare functions, and the sound quality is not good. Not horrible like some people say, but you really need some good earplugs and very clean MP3 rips to make it sound decent. And it does have a noticable hissing noise when its silent (end of a song). Though the figure is not bad. Like it quite a bit actually. Very articulated, looks very good (though on the simple side due to its size), and actually a simple transformation for once regardless its a modern TF. But you can tell Takara is cashing in big time on this guy, because they skimp on everything (player electronics, plastic quality, hollow hands & feet, paint job not that clean, not high-end finish that you would expect from any MP3 player, accessories...heard the headphone it came with sucks, so didn't even bother). But it sells really well I heard just due to its pure novelty. Count me as one of those sucker. But there is definitely something really strange that makes you smile, when you realize that you are listening songs from a freaking Transfomers. So geeky, but so fun as well.

Is it possible to modify it by removing the original MP3 player, then installing a better market available MP3 player in it? That way, you'd keep the cool robot while also getting decent sound from it.

That way, you'd keep the cool robot while also getting decent sound from it. Don't really know, but not very likely. You have very limited buttons to play with, and no LCD screens for a high end player, while Soundwave uses the flip open 'screen' for the MiniSD card slot. Even if its possible, its going to be a major project. As is, you kind of need to treat it as a Soundwave toy, that so happens to play a little MP3. If you are looking at it as a usable MP3 player, you'll be very very diappointed. Partly from the player sound quality, partly from the functionality. When you need a screw driver to change battery, how convinient is that?! ;D

Got mine today, looks amazing but I cant get the MP3 Player to work. Iup put a bunch of MP3s on a mini SD and inserted a juiced up battery but no sound. Am i doing anything wrong? Edit: False alarm I have it working now It does sound bassy and the earphones that come with it are pretty standard but I'm not planing on using it as an MP3 player in anything but a novelty capacity. Thats cool. The sound really need some good headphones to get it sound decent, and the hissing noice in the background does bug me. So yeah, don't expect to use the MP3 player other than novelty. Its fun to play it once in a while just for kicks, but it can't really live up to quality of most standard player outside.

Bump! I just got one from HLJ's Transformers sale (yes, it's still on!). I got it to work no problems and actually, my only problem with it so far is simply that the tracks not playing back in alphabetical order. In fact, I'm not quite sure what order they're playing in. Some tracks seem to be reading but not playing back any sound (that is, I see the blue light blinking indicating that it's on and reading). Anybody have a definitive answer for that? Maybe it's a file-format issue (like a certain bit-rate)? Or the filenames are too long? Anybody got any ideas?
