Lejam, you were at Botcon too? I saw Quantron, but the minute I saw the Metroplex next to it, I completely forgot and no longer cared about Quantron. lol

Nope. I wish I could. France is far from here and my schedule is fully loaded. I get the pictures via TFW2005 member Daim Choc. He posts a lot via his FB account. Agree, this metroplex is a homerun. even my girlfriend saw it on screen and said : "Whaoo, it's beautifull" But if I count all releases I am tempted in, the bill is HUGE ! Maketoys Utopia + Quantron + Warbotron Bruticus + FT Dinobots = bleeding bank.

Upgrade Commander is the cheapest place to buy Maketoys items. Edit : Tfsource and BBTS are competiting on price for this item. X2otoys will probably have a nive price but it is not yet settled...

This sucks. I cancelled my preorder for this because of the pile of SoCs incoming from Bandai. Here's hoping Quantron can be had later on at a discount.

I'll be happy to add this guy to my collection as soon as he arrives in US shops He's already got a spot waiting between Fansproject Menasor and MT Devastator. I really like that all of the limbs are distinctly different figures. MMC's predaking suffered from some major re-use of molds and even FP's Menasor had near-duplicate limb robots. I love that every figure in this Quantron set is totally different from head to toe, from look to transformation to gimmicks.

Imo, MT deliver the best Combiners (global shape, individual, combining system, posability of each robots, characterization...). They keep style and design on front without missing on the other important point. I know it could be too much, but in case of such a case : I would see their Predaking interpretation ehehehehehehe Seriously, they bring minimum shape for such figure size to cleamn design choice. I got both Mt Giant version and they are beating so much the market. If I could (room and money), I would like to rush on Utopia and Scorponok too...

Tsan Kin's TF Spotlight is always showing great review and story of the characters/models. Here is another gallery : www.flickr.com/photos/lazyaza/sets/72157647931252372/Imo, Quantron head need a bit more paint apps and the contrast of the orange face with red helmlet is less. Perhaps it's due to the shots. WIll have a closer look and opinion on real.

I just got mine the other day. Sadly because of work and life responsibilities (booooo) I haven't had a chance to do much more than briefly mess with the individual robots and transform them once to and from their alt modes, but so far everything seems really awesome. The individual figures definitely have that "Maketoys feel", with the slightly textured, dense-feeling-but-flexible plastic that they used on Giant and their Trash Talk figure. The clear plastic and different colors all really pop and look great (special mention goes to Celeritas for the color of the maroon on his arms and legs which looks gorgeous). For the most part, all of the transformations are pretty slick. There are some worrying spots, like transforming the Tron Bike robot's feet, but every figure pegs together securely and nothing feels floppy or poorly designed. Even Coredrill, the drill tank which has by far the fiddliest transformation and explodes in on himself during his transformation ends up connecting with a dozen pegs in alt mode that keep everything together securely. The big guy, Metalstorm, feels like a satisfyingly hefty brick of a robot - super chunky and super solid in both modes; a far cry from Fansproject's Motor Master. Everything about him feels good in hand, from the smooth way the various panels on him swivel around during transformation to the way his battlecruiser mode pegs into a solid, amazing looking horribly beweaponed death machine. I haven't even had a chance to combine these guys but they're already feeling pretty worth it to me.
