So, how is this one different from the GX-57? I love the new anime, but not enough to drop another $300 on a Yamato that is basically the same as the one released not that long ago. Hell, I already have two Bandai Yamato's, the Big SOP and the SOC GX-57... }|

On the second picture I posted you can see some differences between GX-53 and the new release, particularly on the bridge design. Judging from the rather speedy release date, I'm crossing my fingers that this is just some filler SOC with a minor remold before an actual all new SOC (GX-63) is announced.

Where is this from? Seems like an odd release. What if this is a reissue for the show?

So this is going to be the 3rd space battleship yamato? Bandai running out of ideas for SOCs?

It's a new ship based on the cg designs and not a re-issue of GX-57 or a tweak. Makes sense the new series is doing pretty good, I've started to notice a ton of other companies releasing merchandise and this will most likely sell out like GX-57 did. Personally I would rather have a robot but business wise this is probably a smart move on Bandai's part which is works for me this year will be a expensive year with so many releases.

They showed it at the Tokyo Toy Show. They did not seem to include any numbering for this one. Maybe it won't have a number. Sure looks a lot like GX-57 but I don't own that one either.
