Thanks Chogokinabdul. I'll be keeping it simple and not go into super detail like I do with SOC reviews though. Yes, it is surprisingly light and that's factoring the huge wings into the equation. I'll be doing the Black version (got a sweet deal on it thanks to a friend who managed to snag me one at the HK ACG Con) and the Dino Getter 2 (currently working on SRC GFG and the Soul Spec 17 Dragonar at the moment hehe ). Awesome, you'll be reviewing the dino-getter 2 as well Getter 1 is overall a good figure. But forum member Pascal had problems with Getter 2's dino mode, so I'm still not sure if I really want to add this trio to my collection in the future, or not. I guess I'll just wait for your review then

I might be in the minority here but I really like the dino getter 2. While I do agree that the lack of parts locking into place is frustrating, I find that the tension of the moving parts is stiff enough to keep things in place (at least some of it). You can see influences of Evangelion on the dino mode: the eva 05-esque head design with the red tongue and the compound abdomen design. There's a lot of playability in the 3 modes: dino mode; the bot mode with the dino head and tail as arms; and the bot mode with the dino arms as the bot arms that holds the rifle. I'm finding that the dino getter 2's playability is higher than that of dino getter 1 due to the balance issue that the wings cause to the former. Dino getter 2 is almost as poseable and as balanced as an action figure. I received the figure over the weekend and I haven't been able to put him down. My humble opinions only, your mileage might vary. And now for the crappy iphone pic (sorry for the lack of lighting)

If you click the wings back there is no balance issues with getter dino 1.

Hi gang. Here's a quick look at Sentinel MetamorForce Dino Getter 1 – Black Version and Dino Getter 2 The manual is exactly the same as the red version. Limited mostly to conventions like SDCC and HK ACG con ( I think it also came out on their website?), this one pretty much went up in price. I was lucky my friend was able to get me one at the HK ACG. I love the new head sculpt. Switch on!!!! Getter Tomahawk! Getter Scythe Weighs roughly 265 Grams. Since this is a retool of the Red version the diecast parts are the same (Toes, sides of the lower legs, crotch and upper torso) Also, the figure is molded in red plastic and then repainted black. You can make out some of the unpainted edges if you look really closely. Not a big thing but you do have to be careful and mindful of scratching the paint in light of this. Pteranodon mode Comparison with Red Getter Last but not least the cape swap with Sentinel Black Getter. The cape is not included with this set but is from the Sentinel X Trex OVA Black Getter 1. Personally, I love this more than the red version, the "bone-white" colors on the red one just seem off. Plus, we get a better-looking head here, no "happy Getter" mouth design. Lol. The only real turn off here is the price. Secondary market prices are way too high for this. Sentinel should just have made this just as accessible as the Black Getter One instead of the "exclusive" route. That killed the interest really for a lot of folks with that silly move. Sentinel MetamorForce Dino Getter 2 Beastwars Megatron? Drill arm Dino Getter 2 has 4 modes. -Robot Mode -Rear sepu (?) arm Mode -Front sepu(?) arm Mode -Dino Mode Rear Sepu arm mode I really love the concept of Getter 2 actually having full hands and arms. As opposed the just the drill. Not to mention guns. The guns are a cool. Front Sepu arm mode Dino mode Diecast parts include -Lower legs -Toes (feet are plastic) -Crotch -Lower torso (? Not entirely sure about this). Hehe, I forgot to take the weight. I'll update this when Getter 3 rolls around. So far, it's pretty good. At first I thought the joints might be loose, but they're not. At least not to the point that the toy is a flopping mess (prior to opening this I was opening the recent Transformers Generations Skids, now that was a flopping mess in terms of joints). It would've been better if we had some ratchet joints going here but it's fine, not really a deal-breaker IMHO. I actually like Getter 2 more than the Getter one since the Dino mode seems better and has more poseability compared to the Getter 1's Pteranodon. Now to hope that Getter 3 would be decent too. Nice review Gold I agree with you, dino-mode for Getter 2 is better executed. The pteranodon Getter 1 looks weird, a cluster of parts compressed together under the body and wings.

Thanks guys. Yeah, the cape actually looks way better here than it did on the actual Black Getter One. Must be the proportions? Gold

Thanks Grendyrj. BTW guys, just to reiterate, the cape is not included in the Black Dino Getter 1, it's from the Sentinel x TRex OVA Black Getter 1. Gold

Thanks for the excellent review Gold! The black dino getter is really badass. Not easy to find one at retail price. Fortunate to get mine from a recent toy show.

Agree with you, Gold. I also prefer Getter 2 ove Getter 1. To me, there's a lot more playability with Getter 2 and its multiple modes, while Getter 1 does have an incrementally better shelf presence. I love fiddling around with my figures, so I'll take playability any day.
Wouldn't mind getting the Black Getter 1, but I won't bow down to secondary market pricing. Too many great toys coming out in the future.

Quick question for anyone who pre-order from Amazon. Did you have ticket for the weapons bonus from different suppliers? I have bluefin ticket for my getter 1, and diamond comics ticket for my getter 2. Anybody know if different tickets will work to get the bonus weapons?

I think I read or heard somewhere that you need to buy all 3 from the same distributor to be eligible for the bonus weapons. I hope I'm wrong, because it wouldn't be fair. I bought all three from Amiami, and I'll be emailing them soon to ask if folks outside of Japan are eligible for the bonus weapons.
