Mate finish is always great ! Sentinel got really strong designers ! IMO, it's the compagny who recently pushed hard into toy design and business. Back to this piece : it's an impressive sculpt with beautifull lines. It's a DX figure (articulations, leds and price). Hope it will come with a nice display stand or base... Need to bring money home to catch that bad boy ! AE got it on PO : www.anime-export.com/product/15638

Wow. Looks just like the renderings. Maybe some of those rendering pics were not renderings.

Matte is better than glossy. Look at the anime, he's not shiny

Made by an awesome company like sentinel, diecast, jumbo sized, full articulation, light gimmick... Could the be the perfect gokin?
This is the first of a line of giant sized gokin right? Please say yes....

Yeah it won't be the largest diecast figure plus I would hold off till Sentinel actually released a diecast figure before jumping on the bandwagon. We have seen this before time and time again where the prototypes look great and we build up all these expectations and then it's released and you could hear a flea fart from the silence in the room because it's nowhere near what you expected. Granted Sentinel or more precisely the Riobot line has released some great figures, but all plastic figures that are around 5-6" tall is nowhere near releasing a foot tall diecast toy with lights. Especially since I'll bet a $100 that it will be a collaboration with the garage kit company T-REX which explains the line name and has zero experience producing diecast figures. It could be a great figure but nothing beats experience and the toys you have released speak for you and as of right now Sentinel has released no diecast toys so it has nothing to say about how good they are at making them.

I doubt it...though T-Rex has the mold, and sold the WF exclusive resin kit. More pictures here: maruta.be/trextoys/+p2

But I'm feeling a lot like Chen: (Correct me here guys) 1) 12 in makes it a great Die-Cast robot (I don't think there is anything this large at present? SOC Maz DX isn't that big.) 2) Die-Cast is NEW to them... Most of their work is resin? 3) Approx $400 without shipping is pretty high - worth it if they can pull it off nice. 4) AE & Amiami have it on Pre-Order, but are asking 100% down. It worries me when they take 100% on a pre-order - Is this true? Any one order up yet? And if so, did they take 100% or 20%-40%?

Amiami doesn't require you to put any money down, but they don't like cancellations. AE does require you to pay 100% down. To be fair to T-Rex did a lot of the CAD and prototype work for Yamato including a lot of their 1/60 Valkyries and even the beagle mosepeada ride armor. I could of sworn T-Rex also helped Yamato make that amazing diecast shield liger too. Here's a list all or most of their work: www.t-rextoys.co.jp/works.html Nevertheless, when any new toyline comes out even from a reputable company it's always best to be cautious.

DX Maz and max Gokin big o are the other 12" non-transforming figures at similar price range.
There are some SOCs like Ideon that are also 12".

A year ago there was a plastic Gorg made by T-rex with an opening chest, however it was a wonderfest exclusive and much smaller than this new diecast toy. There's a few pictures of that one here : wildcats.pupui.jp/mt/archives/2012/07/trex_4.html
