I finally got a hit on Metal Build Seven Sword/G. For anyone looking, I was told by a retailer friend that distributor sales are going to end on the 10th, so if you're going to preorder it then now's the time. Also, multiple retailers have let me know that they're literally getting less than ten of these, so it seems like quantities are really sparce in general which explains the literal 1 minute sellouts.

When stuffs sell out too hot, can expect to see a reissue 6 months down the road, or even a Seven Swords Full package with Raiser as a Tamashii Web Exclusive.

The regular Seven Sword released over 6 years ago. I think one of the main reason Bandai is reissuing the Seven Sword in a more complete package was due to the current KO and 3rd party Metal Builds gaining popularity.

I was chatting with a retailer friend of mine, and he was telling me that he would literally get a fraction of the metal builds they'd order. Like 1/10 of an order. I'd imagine that Bluefin still considers gundam to me a niche market in North America (since the anime hasn't left the impression that it did in Asia since Wing Gundam) and it just isn't worth making the gamble. I can't blame them. The economy has been complete sh*t for the past 7 years and retailers are still dropping like flys. I'm just glad we are able to get this stuff at a somewhat reasonable price at all.

What I know from the distributor is that every online and physical retail store worldwide placed huge orders for the Seven Swords. However there is a maximum quantity that the factory can churn for the July release date.
The allocation is based on several criteria such as overall size of business and also what other products are ordered alongside the Seven Swords. To some extent retailers have to order xx quantity of a shelf warmer in order to get an extra piece of seven Swords.
Bandai is aware of the phenomenon sell out of the seven sword. Per the Maxinger z gx-70 that saw a quick reissue due to high demand, bandai does not deny the possibility of a quick reissue of seven sword just like what they previously did for the destiny heine custom and destiny reissue, which had 2 release dates so that the factories can churn out the pre ordered quantities.

Honestly, I'd hope that it'd be the case in terms of a re issue, but I'm not holding my breath. I'm honestly just getting my two and calling it a day. Do you have any word on a raiser option?

Honestly, I liked the deco on the first release of Seven swords waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better, so if there's a raiser set reissued, I'd like to see it be the original 7S and the exclusive raiser packed into one.

I have no official word on the raiser reissue yet but I firmly believe it's in the pipeline as a tamashii web exclusive.
There is no way bandai would miss out on the chance to maximize the reissue of 7 Swords.
I'm guessing the news will be out just before July or soon right after 7 Swords is released. And if we are lucky, a second run of the 7 Swords/G will be announced around that time.
It makes perfect sense if bandai wants to sell as many Raiser as possible.
Also I have a hunch that the end of year tamashii event exclusive will be trans am 7 Swords with raiser set, which will be followed by a online lucky draw or march/April 2018 tamashii web limited release.

<shrug> I dunno, it seems every Metal Build that comes out is like a headless chicken hype-cycle but I think from my interactions in here and what I've observed, those who are patient and wait it out as the weeks pass after the initial PO will get one. Peeps like f360 who are amazingly helpful usually come through with a heads-up. I don't know how "bad" this economy is if a roughly $200USD "action figure" can sell out that easily in the initial preorder. So, I think the nutbars out there like us are still definitely not feeling ANY recession or poor economy. Anyways, I'll keep waiting and hopefully, I'll be able to snag one for a decent price (i.e. at MSRP).

The huge sell out is mainly due to hoarders and resellers who are trying to make a quick buck out of this craze. The prices in Japan are stable at 25k yen, which is about USD219. Chances are we will see more closer to the release date.

Yeah most if not all are USA based so shipping to Canada can be around $20 to $30 more . Not sure what happened with Loopaza but their shipping is pretty high now compared to before. Will keep you updated if i see any Canada base stores too

If Bandai really wants to milk it, the could follow it up with a trans an variant, a red test color variant and then some. I guess it's just a matter of time. As an Indy toy designer/producer, studying Gundam and Bandai has been instrumental to helping me understand collector and producer mentality. It's pretty amazing.

It usually makes sense for me to procure anything directly from Japan these days...BBTS is my backup for Bandai/gokin toys from there if I really need it otherwise, they are my supplier for 3rd-party TFs. I don't mind TFSource either but given my experience with Joel's crew, I'll stick to the former. Other one-offs come from Toy Dojo and etc. Other vendors come as needed based on availability. I'm still optimistic we'll get a batch of inventory in the coming weeks as has happened with the other Metal Builds. Thanks again for your help...I truly do appreciate it. And owe you a beer.
