Ok gang been hearing alot about cracking an old rubber treads on both vintage and modern SOC toys, especially the Getters like Bear and Poseidon, and both vehicle Voltrons Matchbox and and our future MP Vehicle Voltrons LOL.These below products PROTECT and REPAIR dried out rubber before and after it goes bad! Anyhow did some reseach and it seems our hobby like the auto hobby both contain painted metal and rubber, and since SOC collecting doesnt really have "protectants" we use carnauba car wax for the paint,as Ive recommended AND now for rubber the items below. They are both Silicone free which has caused a debate lately if silicone is actually bad for rubbers in the long run, they are also greaseless and not sticky etc.I just bought one of them which is easier to find on amazon ,it comes in a blotter type bottle, like a bingo marker.Either of these products seem to be the best rubber protectant used in automobile industry. Wurth Rubber care gel stick {spray}avaiable here{this seems harder to find and is more expensive} : vanagonwestfaliaparts.com/shop/worth-rubber-care-stick/ OR this stuff that I just bought on Amazon called einszett at amazon,9$ before shipping. www.amazon.com/einszett-914806-Gummi-Pflege-Rubber/dp/B004B8GTQG/ref=pd_sim_sbs_auto_1either is great to prevent cracking etc as for einszett I will review here soon!!or do a bit more research if youd like, and get some now!

Ah, it's a pity I didn't have any of this stuff/noticed my poor cracking treads on my SOC Ideon. I'm certainly interested to hear more about how well and effectively this stuff works, as I've got plenty of toys with rubber tires and the like that make me nervous.

All my SOC treads are fine,so gonna use it as protectant.Im in NY state, and I keep my stuff in cases, both things must help. The weather here isnt so harsh in any season so..you guys in humid areas,or areas with extreme weather changes,Id most advise protectant like this,or for anyone who plans on keeping their toys for life,Im guessing in the long run its a good idea! Actually Im going to start using a coat of spray wax on all my diecast toys starting soon, spray wax is quick and easy, use teh good stuff like McGuiars ultimate quick wax like I do,and or Kit or aother carnauba paste waxes,i use that on larger diecast areas...About 1/4 of mine are waxed as is.I also usually keep frog tape on the edges of all my glass detolf cabinets to keep dust out.
You guys experiencing the rubber cracking etc,are your toys in open air areas?or in glass detolfs?I tend to think open air collections have a better chance of corrosion on all materials of robots.Unless your home is really dust free, smoke free and properly temperatured.Ive considered getting another dehumidifier too for my room,a must to keep the air dry.
Anyhow Ill let you guys know how teh rubber protectant is when i get it.It is supposed to keep teh rubber nice and pliable too, rotating the rubber treads every once in a while helps to keep them in good working order, and pliablility is key for that,

i think also it could work is the spray that one use for the leather seats and dashboard of the cars. Yeah i looked that up first... like Armor-All or such products, but most contain silicone which may harm the rubber in the long run,and its greasy.the big arguement is if silicone harms rubber,I dont want to take any chances, but i first thought of using something like that too,but settled on actual rubber protectant which works on all types of rubbers, like all the different ones on the SOCs,even if they arent 100% rubber..and it wont harm them in any way, whereas silicone based products may..

indeed there some of those sprays that will damage the rubber but there other spray that also works on rubber material as well, just need to check the instructions on the spray can if it says so. i had one that i use to apply it on the Poseidon rubber treads which so far it has been good, however i was to late to save getter' 3 rubber parts because it was already dry and breaking apart =/. but if your concern about it you can always diluted it in water and then apply it on the rubber material, not much, juts a bit. the product i use is called Cristal Car Care Products, its good for tires, rubbers and vinyl moldings . i think you can find it in any store where it has section for car parts and cleaning materials.

Ok kids got the stuff and it works great! Used it on Ideon,Poseidon and Getter Bear it really looks to protect the rubber just dampen, let dry and you can leave teh shine on it or gently wipe off to a matte look like original.Im very happy with teh product and feel WAY safe about the rubber on my Gokins now!! BTW very important make sure to remove teh treads from the robot and do the inside of the tread and along its side edges, this will completely seal the deal..and teh rubber!LOL.OH and take ample time to dry too, some may be left not completely dry so just buff with a microsoft towel. Thanks for reading!Good luck EVERy Chogokin owner who owns robots with these treads should buy this product FOR SURE!It even restores!
