My 10 year old daunter is gonna take it to school for show and tell. The only thing that worries me is her losing the hands.

My 10 year old daunter is gonna take it to school for show and tell. The only thing that worries me is her losing the hands. There's no harm in sending her without the hands. She could always say "they are really small and we didn't want to lose them". Otherwise, I suggest giving her a sturdy little cardboard box with some bible wrap and you can put hello kitty and the fists in a ziplock bag for her. Put everything in the box and she's all set.

I myself put away all the tiny bits and pieces from SRCs. Like all the pilders are in ziplock bags in accessories drawer. Those are guarantee loss to if not careful what with pets and other careless family members. Even cleaning lady can lose them during dusting. ;-)

So, for anyone who may be interested in another in-depth review of this toy, CollectionDX posted one just a few hours ago Here it is: www.collectiondx.com/toy_review/2014/chogokin_hello_kittyEDIT: Wow it's the first time I've seen that Hello Kitty Ad, and it seemed pretty good! Gave a backstory about how Kitty came into possession of her robot I already wanted this chogokin before, but after seeing the promo video, I'm even more convinced

And finally I got one of these, just a few hours ago Gotta say, I'm really satisfied with it. It's been out for several months now, but I managed to find one in a store not too far away from here. And what a cute tiny brick it is, hehe. I'm satisfied with the articulation, the head has a solid joint at the neck, and the leg ratchets are strong enough to support the toy, no problem there. The shooting fists do fly nicely, and the eye gimmick is sweet definitely a good purchase. Now, to save up for the December/January period...

I just got the 1979 Doraemon reissue and have it posed next to Hello Kitty. They look so good next to each other. I want Panda Z and the newer Doraemon, but not at the crazy ebay prices. $40-50 is very fair for these items.

Perhaps I had unrealistic expectations but I was mildly disappointed that the Doraemon figure is much lighter in weight than the Hello Kitty piece. I'm assuming the Nobita figure has little to no die-cast as well.

If you have a question about a different Doraemon, let me know. If you mean the doraemon reissue, it's heavy for what it is. The modern gacha gacha doraemon is very heavy.

Mr. Ginrai - Is the gacha gacha Doraemon the one by Bandai produced in 2006 or thereabouts? If I was to buy a Doraemon/Nobita set that's comparable to the die-cast Hello Kitty which would it be?

And yes, you are right. I was thinking the robot spirits figure as having no die-cast...and as you stated there is none.

If I was to buy a Doraemon/Nobita set that's comparable to the die-cast Hello Kitty which would it be? Currently there is no diecast nobita figure that I know of. For diecast doraemon, there are the following: 2005/6 release of gacha gacha doraemon renewal version: this is a large figue with an anime realistic style and lots of accessories. Very heavy. Larger than the 1979 reissue. 2006 release of gacha gacha doraemon 1979 reissue: exactly what it says, reissue of the original 1979 chogokin toy. 2006 re-release of the gacha gacha doraemon renewal version aka movie version aka Nobita's dinosaur version: re-release of the gacha gacha renewal doraemon of 2005/6, except it comes with even more accessories that are from/based on the doraemon: Nobita's dinosaur adventure movie. If you want to match the hello kitty based on style and design aesthetic, buy the 1979 reissue even though the 1979 reissue will be a little smaller. The renewal version doraemon is much much bigger and heavier but looks like a modern anime sculpt in real life. You could argue that the hello kitty (really hello kitty anything) is anime accurate and display those together, however I think that the hello kitty might still look more like a toy compared to the renewal version. Check out old pics at HLJ or HobbySearch to get a better idea. Chachipower owns my renewal version so check out the chachipower and rocketpuncharmy channels on YouTube as well, I believe he did a review there. I have the 1979 reissue. Had the first renewal doraemon and sold it. Not vintage enough for me but a great piece. Don't have the hello kitty yet.

Well...
I don't know what I'm going to do with this one... I'd buy it just to pair it with the regular chogokin hello kitty. So yeah, I'll probably get it.
Also. I didn't notice anything new in the pics of the reissued one. What are the differences?

From what I read, the box will be different. It will not have the 40th anniversary design.

This Chogokin Hello Kitty is the prolly the main reason why there seems to be a stock-shortage on both the GX-31V 40th-anniversary and the DX Chogokin Macross Frontier valkyries. Bandai's priorities, I say...
