SOC DX Chogokin Tetsujin 28??? *jaws dropped* That just looks to be the vintage Popy toy. Not sure why it would be there (unless its a hint to a DX SOC). As to the Arcadia, I only have the Taito one. Its pretty sizable, especially for its price (about $15!), but it would be nice to get a diecast one like this. I am pretty sure that is the old sg-01 popy/godaikin t28 in the background. They had some weird vintage displays at tamashii, I couldn't find other pics of the tetsujin but I found another picture where they had a table that had a vintage clover DX super combination gundam, a kado senshi rx-78, a master grade rx-78, and a big g-fighter on display with little plaques and nothing else. And Myles, unfortunately the taito ones are no longer that cheap! Hopefully the price will come down on them now.

Also, does anyone have a rough idea on possible retail price based on what the previous SOC "ships" were when they got released? I have to ask because I never really paid attention to SOC at all except for a couple of the robots.

According to HobbyLink Japan, the list prices for the GX-57 Yamato and GX-58 Andromeda were ¥22,000 (US$223) and ¥25,000 (US$253), respectively.

But remember, those are usually their SRPs and they always list a much lower prices when they're actually in stock or available for pre-order; I remember getting Yamato for something like 18 or 19k yen.

"List price" is what HLJ calls the MSRP, yes.

Bump!
Anyone hear any updates on this, pricing, or a potential release date?

No word yet. Since the CG movie came out last Sept 2013, I really wonder if this will still come out.
With already 4 (expensive) SOCs coming this year (Yamato 2199, GGG, Tryder, Daitarn recolor), I wonder if they can still squeeze this one in.

Considering we've only seen an unpainted prototype of GGG so far, I wouldn't be surprised if that didn't come out until 2015, while Daitarn is practically a reissue.

Well, at least it gives me time to save up and it's one less thing to buy for now. That's never a bad thing :-)

And to think, I briefly started looking into buying options for the Aoshima one, having completely forgotten about this. Doh! Oh well, guess I'll just buy something else then.

Very cool, but I really think it is in desperate need of some weathering or shading (at least more than the minimal amount currently on it).
Also, I'd love to know how much of this is metal. What were the previous ships like in terms of metal content?

Nice to see this is still going somewhere. Glad now I missed the Aoshima version when they reissued it last year Tho I still got the blue TV version on pre-order, wondering if they're planning to make one of that too. Very cool, but I really think it is in desperate need of some weathering or shading (at least more than the minimal amount currently on it). Compared to the sloppy weathering on the GX-57, I def. prefer the flatter look. IIRC, Yamato (both of them) only had about 2/3 of the bottom of the hull in die cast, but Andromeda was slightly better on that regard...don't take my word on it tho.

Wow! How big was the Arcadia in the show? Compared to the Galaxy Express 999, it seems to be way too big. Like, you could fit a good part of the Galaxy Express down one of the barrel of Arcadia's main gun, and not to mention how huge Arcadia's bridge is in comparison... }D

Arcadia is pretty massive.
You know that big scale chart with all the giant robots? There's another one that throws in a bunch of ships too, and Arcadia is way bigger than Yamato even.
