I know we're gonna get the usual discounts, so the actual price will wind up being somewhere on the better side of 20k yen, but still...
With the recent price increases, I'd hate to see more toylines go the way of Playarts Kai where they go like "Hey guys, did you see the prices our toys fetch on the secondhand market? If people will still pay that kind of money for them, why not just charge that much in the first place and make that profit ourselves!"

Probably PO for around 250ish. Either way, I'll have it to display with my Hot Toys Harlock

No thanks! Pass for me. With probably a 25% discount at pre-order it would cost 22,680 Yen.

Meanwhile, you could get the Aoshima one from Mandy for 12k yen.
The Aoshima Arcadia is pretty small compared to the SoC Yamato ships isn't it? I expect this to at least be bigger than those.
But even with electronics more than just lights, that pricetag is gonna need some hell of a justification.

We will see what this really does for the money they are charging. In my opinion, a lot of harlock stuff just tends to always be expensive whether it is newly released or has hit the aftermarket.

I'm looking forward to see the possible variant editions : dirt/weathering, glossy black, and why not, a battle damaged.
Anyway, what i can say right now is that the sculpt is definitely better than the Aoshima edition, even better than the "Renewal" versions. Hope the quality wil be as good.

Nah, variants like that are Aoshima's schtick.

Yeah, I don't think any spaceship SOC ever got a recolor or re-release.

30,240 yen!!! Oh for... that's just high! I guess the fee for the rights are what's cranking up the price. Short of this thing coming with a diecast Galaxy Express 999, that's way high. Gold

I'm not currently planning to get it, because I'm not a big fan of this Arcadia (like the blue Death Shadow a lot better). But if I did go for it, for that amount of money, I would expect it to dwarf the SOC Yamato(s) and Andromeda in size... by a lot! }D

I don't get why the Ships line isn't a separate thing like the spec line.

I don't get why the Ships line isn't a separate thing like the spec line. Agree. If Bandai plans to continue adding ships and non-super robots to the line, they might as well just rebrand it something else. }D

While I think there are enough ships/vehicles available to be a separate line, I just don't think they have enough of them planned. If they did do a separate line, I would like to see some crazy stuff like a White Base, and other ships large transports like they used to issue plastic model kits of back in the 70s/80s. Some of the coolest hero and enemy fighters, ships and battle cruisers were only don't in kit form.

I said P. P as in Popynica. You know, the other line that was made up entirely of vehicles and hasn't seen a new entry since the Shin Mazinger hover pilder?
Then again...didn't the classic Chogokin line back in the 70's also have vehicles? Granted, they were the supporting vehicles from shows that actually did have giant robots, but still...

IIRC, the SOP line also released: 1. BPX Space Battleship Yamato (special "B" for BIG designation ala DX for SOCs) 1. Mazinger Z Hover Pileder / and Mazinger head separate accessory 2. Cowboy Bebop's Swordfish 3. Kamen Rider's Cyclone motorcycle 4. Shin Mazinger Hover Pileder 5. Akira's Motorcycle That is a weird lineup if you ask me! }D
